Prince William and Prince Harry continue to remain estranged despite the Duke making a successful attempt to connect with their father, King Charles, during his recent UK visit. The two brothers have avoided any kind of direct meeting or communication ever since Harry stepped down from royal duties in 2020. Over four years, extensive commentary on their relationship suggests that an emotional reunion is unlikely. However, Meghan Markle recently revealed a heartwarming secret that highlighted the Windsor brothers' deep connection. While appearing as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia, the Duchess shared candid insights about her lifestyle.

The Duchess of Sussex received an unexpected video call from Prince Harry during the filming of MasterChef Australia, where they discussed the contestants' dishes. During their conversation, Markle lauded the participants, calling them "amazing," and particularly highlighted a hot sauce made by a chef, noting that it may not be suitable for the Duke due to its spiciness. "There's a hot sauce and, you know, it's a sambal, and it is so good. I don't know, I think it might be too much for you, though. It's spicy," she teased Harry. This revelation may have resonated with royal fans because it is well known that the Prince of Wales shares a similar dislike for overly spicy cuisine, indicating a common trait between him and his brother.

Prince William had himself confessed while appearing on BBC's Going Home with Vick and Jordan on Radio 1 in 2023 alongside his wife, "I can't do too much spice, I start sweating. It's not attractive." To which Kate had quipped, "Whereas I like the spice, so I have to sort of cook the curry and then add the spice, extra spice at the end." According to Harper's Bazaar, the hosts asked the future king and queen whether they preferred their curries spicy or mild. William then continued with his signature sense of humor, remarking that Kate "has to bring it in gently, because otherwise I get too sweaty. It’s not a nice sight!" Thus, Markle let slip that the estranged brothers shared a common trait when it came to how their food needs to be prepared. Ironically, both the Duchess of Sussex and Princess of Wales share a love for spicy food. Meanwhile, there seem to be no signs of reconciliation between the couples.

The Waleses attended a polo match the day the Sussexes were conducting an intimate meeting with the monarch at Highgrove. Prince William was just miles away from his younger brother as the two carried out separate engagements during Harry's UK visit. It has been reported that the Duke will be staying at Buckingham Palace as he returns to his homeland in September, a decision that has made Prince William wary of his father, King Charles.
