Kate Middleton Follows One Thoughtful Rule Whenever She Attends a Royal Wedding
Kate Middleton is easily one of the most famous women in the world, but she still manages to attend high-profile weddings without overshadowing the real stars of the day.
Kate Middleton is one of the most recognisable women on the planet, which essentially means that no matter where she goes, she is the icon, the legend, and very much the moment. However, being arguably the most famous person in a room is not always easy, especially if one is attending someone else’s special day that is being highly reported on. Being a part of the royal family, the Princess of Wales has often found herself in situations like these, but she has always handled them gracefully, without stealing anyone’s thunder.
Middleton doesn’t draw unnecessary attention to herself, and to put it bluntly, she doesn’t need to. The global cameras will always be trained in her direction. Former royal butler Grant Harrold recently revealed how the beloved royal tackles the unprecedented attention. “Kate is aware that the world is looking at her, even when traditionally they should be looking at the bride—and she does what she can to make sure she doesn’t steal the show,” he told Marie Claire.
One of the key aspects that piques curiosity before Middleton’s appearance at an event is what outfit she will wear. That’s possibly why the style icon carefully chooses her wardrobe while attending someone’s wedding to not pull attention away from the bride. Harrold said, “She puts a lot of thought into her outfits to make sure she looks the part without overshadowing the bride.”
The future monarch’s thoughtfulness and elegance were on display as she attended Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling’s wedding last week. She opted for a neutral palette for the occasion and chose a beautiful cream dress from Roland Mouret and a matching boater hat from Jane Taylor. She completed her look with a camel purse, beige pumps, drop earrings, a pendant, and a special heirloom pearl bracelet of her mother-in-law, Princess Diana. “She also wore a bracelet that used to belong to Princess Diana, which was very kind to see,” Harrold further added.
Middleton and Diana do resemble each other in certain aspects. Both of them are loved immensely by the people, are known for their impeccable taste in fashion, and have earned uncannily similar monikers. While Diana was famously the ‘People’s Princess’, Middleton is known as the ‘Children’s Princess’. Both of them have held the title of the ‘Princess of Wales’. Over the years, Middleton has often given sartorial tributes to her mother-in-law, her bracelet being the most recent one. Interestingly, the newest royal bride, Sperling, has also drawn parallels with Middleton. Their choice of including intricate lace details in their wedding gowns has further boosted the healthy comparison.
