Insider Claims William ‘Feels Deserted’ as Harry Pursues 'Life of Fun' in US: 'They're Worlds Apart...'

Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship has only worsened since the latter’s exit from the royal family. Commenting on the two brothers, who are reportedly no longer on talking terms, a source recently revealed that William allegedly ‘feels deserted’ by his younger brother. An insider explained how Harry left a ‘gap’ in the monarchy, leaving his brother alone in his reign when it was always supposed to be the two of them together.
According to Us Weekly, the source compared Harry and William’s lives as they continue to remain estranged. Harry, along with his wife, Meghan Markle, and two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are leading a private life, away from royal duties, in the US. On the other hand, William is driven by his duties as he continues to focus on public service and his future as the king. The insider said, “Harry and Meghan are highlighting a life of fun and lightness while William’s is dominated by duty and public service. They are worlds apart.” While they lead different lives now, there was a time when they were supposed to complement one another. The source hence asserted that the Duke’s exit has left a lasting mark on his elder brother. “Harry left a large gap in William’s world, not just personally but practically.” The insider continued, “The whole idea was for Harry to work hand-in-hand with William and to divide and conquer during William’s monarchy. So, Harry not being there is tough. He feels deserted by his brother, not that he would ever say that out loud.”

The two brothers drifted apart when Harry and Markle accused the royal family of ill treatment. Besides their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, their namesake Netflix documentary, and the Duke’s tell-all memoir, Spare, further deepened the rift. Amid the ongoing feud, Harry has expressed his desire to reconcile with his father, King Charles, and the rest of the family in his BBC interview. He is also to extend an olive branch to the family with an invitation to the Invictus Games 2027, set to be held in Birmingham. A source close to Harry told the Daily Mail, “Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. Invictus hopes the royal family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part. Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend.” The insider also pointed out how Charles, William, and the family have been previously supportive of the Duke’s efforts, and this invitation may fuel a reconciliation between them. The source said, “The royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him, which might be reciprocated.”
Charles and William have often joined Harry in the Games, which the latter founded in 2014. The sporting event aims to provide a platform for injured, wounded, and sick military personnel. While royal fans are looking forward to the Games in 2027, they are hoping it will also bring in the much-awaited reconciliation.
