Prince Harry seemingly had little to say about his uncle Earl Spencer’s explosive new book during his first public event in the UK since his return. The Duke of Sussex attended the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards at the historic Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich on Thursday night to celebrate veterans and service personnel.

Unsurprisingly, things took an awkward turn when he was asked about Spencer's upcoming book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which is set to be released on September 22. One reporter from the crowd asked, “Harry, Harry, how are you feeling about your uncle’s book?” While Harry is close to his uncle, he ignored the question. The Duke continued walking, looking straight ahead as he made his way into the event. With Invictus, his biggest passion project, Harry remained focused on the veterans and the purpose of the evening rather than the bombshell claims of his uncle.

The book makes several shocking claims about Princess Diana's life and death; one of the most striking being King Charles’ supposed reaction after Diana’s death. The Earl recalled that Charles sounded “giddily elated – like a lottery winner,” which made him wonder whether his brother-in-law's elation was over being free to marry Camilla.

At the event, Harry, however, did talk to reporters about his homecoming experience and how life back in the UK has been for him in the past few weeks. In a conversation with Hello, he said, “The last two weeks have been… It’s been eventful. But, you know, we’re getting stuck into the work. Kids are in school. We’re happy.” The Duke continued that it was “great to be back on British soil” and said he was looking forward to the Invictus Games in Birmingham next year.
