Charlotte’s Appearance at Kate’s Carol Service Leaves Fans Worried — and Asking the Same Thing
Princess Charlotte’s appearance at Kate Middleton’s Christmas service sparked concern among royal watchers. A detail in her outfit made her stand out compared to the rest of the royal family. While the event itself unfolded with its usual warmth and ceremony, this slight distinction drew curious reactions and worry among netizens.
Charlotte joined her family at the 'Together at Christmas' carol service at Westminster Abbey on December 5. She looked elegant but youthful as she wore a navy blue dress with a frilled collar, a velvet bolero, and matching bows in her ballet pumps. Meanwhile, her father and brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis, arrived in suits, while Middleton wore a forest-green, fur-lined coat. Charlotte’s lack of outerwear became a concern for the public. As per Royal Insider, a netizen asked, “They look amazing, but I have a question as I’m ignorant: why isn’t Princess Charlotte wearing a coat? Isn’t she cold?” Another had similar worries and enquired, “Was it just me that was hoping Princess Charlotte was warm enough, she was the only one without a coat.” One, however, reassured, “It was not very cold, and it is a short, covered walk from the car, only a few steps!”
Despite the concerns, Middleton is known to be careful in how she dresses and styles Charlotte for public events. Royal Expert Laura Sutcliffe once told HELLO! that the former’s choices are meant to keep her daughter’s image age-appropriate. Sutcliffe explained that Middleton doesn't want her daughter to grow up too quickly and revealed how Charlotte’s signature hairstyle reflects this sentiment. The expert said, “It's always lovely to see Princess Charlotte's hair looking so neat, tidy, and pretty at the same time. Charlotte has always been a big fan of plaits and has worn plaited hair throughout most of her public appearances as a royal.”
As for Middleton's 'Together At Christmas' event, it was attended by her parents, Carole and Michael, and brother James, with his wife Alizée Thevenet, all of whom arrived together. However, her sister Pippa was noticeably absent. King Charles and Queen Camilla also missed the event. Interestingly, they have attended the event only once, the year Middleton gave a tribute to Queen Elizabeth with her carol service. Princess Anne and the York sisters too skipped the service.
