Kate Middleton is known for her warm and humble nature whenever she steps out for official events. The Princess of Wales also has a funny side, often seen pulling Prince William's legs at public appearances. Recalling her behavior behind closed Palace doors, former royal butler Grant Harrold revealed that Middleton is equally generous and friendly when the cameras stop rolling. He also shared that she often likes to enter the kitchen and chat with staff, which goes to show her down-to-earth attitude.

Harrold claimed that despite her royal status, Middleton 'never saw herself better than anyone else.' In an interview wth The Mirror, he said, "She's very easy going. What you see is what you get with her; she has a lovely way about her. She's a nice girl, she is also a bit of a joker as well, and she's got a sense of humor. It's a royal cavalcade with her." The former royal butler also recalled a moment where the Princess showed her true colors at Highgrove House. He continued, "When she used to arrive, she'd come in the kitchen and have a catch-up with us. She would go into the house, but she'd come in and see us first and then go into the house, which I thought was quite nice."

Harrold worked as a butler for King Charles from 2004 to 2011 and is set to launch his new book, The Royal Butler: My remarkable life of royal service. He shared a particular fond memory he holds while being on duty for William and Middleton's private Valentine's meal. He spilled, "It was just the two of them. It was really nice, quite special actually. Even though it was a romantic dinner for them, they very much interacted with me throughout." He added, "I remember when they were these late teenagers, early 20s, now they're like me in their 40s. So, it's so weird to see so many changes, it's amazing."

The former royal butler also revealed the royal family's innate sense of humor behind closed doors. He told InStyle, "Everyone over the years has talked about the issues, the problems, the bullying, or upsets, or this or that. I’m thinking, ‘What the hell? Why are they not talking about the 95 percent of the time we’re all killing ourselves laughing, we’re playing silly jokes at each other.’" When asked what Harrold wished everyone knew about the royal family, he stressed that they are hardworking, especially the King, who he claimed would be up even before him. "He’d go to bed after me, and he’d still be working."

As for William, the Princess of Wales is known to also have a witty sense of humor and often jokes around at public appearances. Royal biographer Christopher Anderson told Fox News, "William once described Kate's sense of humor as ‘naughty’ and his own as ‘dirty,’ and claimed that it was one of the most important things that drew them together." He added that while the couple had cleaned up their act for the children's sake, they "can still make each other double over laughing."
