The Princess of Hearts
While royal overseas engagements are nothing new, Princess Kate’s recent Italy tour stood out for all the right reasons. For one, it marked her first solo overseas visit since her cancer battle, making the trip a powerful reflection of her strength and resilience. Beyond that, the purpose behind the tour was deeply personal to the Princess, and throughout the visit, Kate once again proved why she is often called the “children’s princess.” Now that her two-day trip to Reggio Emilia in northern Italy has come to an end, we’re looking back at the most memorable moments from the second day, and trust us, these highlights are bound to melt your heart.
Crowd Favorite
Starting the moment strong, Kate made a stunning first appearance on the second day dressed in a white pinstriped Blazé Milano taupe blazer. She paired it with an ivory pleated midi skirt from Jenni Kayne. The diva layered the blazer over an ivory-hued scoop-neck top. Looking regal as always, the Princess first greeted the crowd gathered to meet and then proceeded to spend time with the kids at the Remida, il Centro di Riciclaggio Creativo, in Reggio Emilia.
La Dolce Vita
Kickstarting the second day of her tour in high spirits, the Princess visited the Salvador Allende preschool, where she spent hours with the kids as they took outdoor lessons. The kids, delighted to see her, were seen hugging the Princess, and she later even helped them with their art projects.
Musical Appreciation
Having been known to be a great art enthusiast, Kate, during her "Salvador Allende" Scuola dell'infanzia visit, also tried her hand at different musical instruments with the kids. The experience was truly one of a kind, where the Princess not only witnessed the perks of education in nature, but also explored other objectives aiding early child development.
The Healing Nature
The Princess of Wales’ sole purpose in visiting Italy was the exploration of leading approaches to early child development, which focuses on creativity, relationships, and hands-on discovery, and what better place for it than the "Salvador Allende" Scuola dell'infanzia. Here, along with exploring creative art and nature, learning the Princess also gained experience and learned several unknown facts about nature.
Pasta Princess
Indulging in Italian traditions, Kate also visited a vineyard and farmhouse, Agriturismo Al Vigneto, on her second day of the tour. Along with engaging with the staff, she also tried her hand at making pasta. The Princess, with Chef Ivan Lampredi, prepared tortelli from scratch and impressed with her skills. So much so that the chef even praised her, saying, "You are hired."
