Regal but Messy
The British Royal family, over the years, has weathered its share of difficult moments: from heartbreaking losses to scandals that continue to follow them. Yet, they’ve never let these experiences dim their shine. Through countless public appearances, the royals have also found themselves in hilariously awkward situations that leave us in stitches, reminding us they’re far more relatable than we imagine!
Eagle Scare
Back in 2015, King Charles and Queen Camilla visited the Sandringham Flower Show, and there they met Zephyr, a bald eagle, who was the mascot of the Army Air Corps. Initially, the King was intrigued by the bird, but as soon as it started flapping its wings, both he and the Queen got a jump scare, hurrying back to protect themselves. The moment was embarrassing but undeniably funny.
Legally Blonde?
The royals don’t often experiment with their look, but just once Princess Kate did something so drastic, it turned out to be a disaster. The Princess, back in late August 2025, tried "honey-blonde" hair color, garnering attention for all the wrong reasons. People hated it, and not a month later, in September, she was back to having darker locks during the Women’s Rugby World Cup match.
A Royal Probe
Often seen in their polished selves, with rarely a hair out of place, the royals rarely dissociate from their public persona, but once in a while, things take a turn. Queen Elizabeth II, on May 16, 2014, in Windsor, England, attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and while she looked relaxed, she was caught by photographers picking her nose. Needless to say, the action made headlines and left many howling with laughter at the prim and proper Queen Elizabeth actually picking her nose!
Bump in the Road
What was meant to be a fun and wholesome tribute celebrating Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday quickly turned awkward for Meghan Markle. She shared a playful video of herself dancing with Prince Harry to “Baby Mama” while waiting in the hospital for delivery, but it was the unusual shape of her baby bump that left viewers puzzled. While many speculated it was fake, sources later clarified that the awkward appearance was caused by medical tubes attached around her belly.
His Royal Drowsiness
Parenthood can be tough, and even the royals are not spared from its clutches. Just a few days after the arrival of his third child, Prince Louis, Prince William was seen dozing off during a service. He was seen sitting at the annual Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey and quietly drifting off. With his eyes barely open, the Prince of Wales was royally struggling to stay awake.
