5 Biggest Unanswered Questions About Prince Harry's UK Visit
Here's What We Still Don't Know
Prince Harry’s homecoming to the UK is just a day away, and royal fans have a lot of questions. The anticipation was at an all-time high because Meghan Markle and their two children were also supposed to join the trip. However, after a request for additional security was turned down just days before the visit, the couple reportedly decided that Markle and the children would stay back. Even so, there is still a lot we do not know about Harry's visit.
Will Harry Meet William and Kate?
Harry and Prince William have reportedly not reached out to each other for years now. Even when Harry was previously in the UK, he met with King Charles for a short time but did not meet his brother. The last time the brothers had any interaction was during the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022. Given the situation, it is unlikely that Harry will reunite with William and Kate during this visit.
Is the Security Battle Over?
Harry has been fighting to reinstate his taxpayer-funded police protection for a very long time now. He was stripped of the privileges when he stepped down as a working royal back in 2020. However, he has stated many times that it is not safe for Markle and the kids to travel to the UK without security. But the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) revealed that they would not provide full-time police protection during the visit. Security funded by UK taxpayers is decided by RAVEC on a case-by-case basis and is usually only provided to working members of the Royal Family.
More UK Visits?
Since Harry is making a week-long trip to the UK this time, many have been wondering if the visits will be more frequent now. However, royal expert Hugo Vickers told The Sun that any future visits would likely depend on how next week's trip goes and whether it is ultimately seen as a success. However, with the ongoing security battle, the situation remains uncertain about future trips. A source revealed, “Harry is reassessing things. Ultimately, he is going to do everything he can to find a way to bring them over safely.”
A Permanent UK Return?
Since his father’s cancer diagnosis was announced, Harry has been making an effort to reconcile with Charles. In September 2025, they both met at Clarence House for a private tea for less than an hour. However, it is still not known if Harry would leave his life in California to move to the UK. Vickers said, “Coming to England and proximity with the royal family reminds us of his ancestry, of his connections with the royals, which become more and more distant the less he sees of them.”
Is All Forgiven?
“Prince Harry did see his father last September for a private meeting, and if he comes to England this time, I’m sure the King has always left the door wide open for him,” said Vikors. Charles was also reportedly thrilled to meet his grandkids and offered the couple a place to stay. Still, with so much up in the air, only time will tell whether Harry's visit will bring the family any closer together.
