Kate reportedly wanted to wear flowers in her hair during her 2011 wedding to Prince William. According to reports, her mother, Carole Middleton, had worn the whimsical hairstyle when she married Michael Middleton in 1980. However, Queen Camilla allegedly advised Kate against it. "The latest battleground is that Camilla is said to be desperate to persuade the bride to wear a tiara — even asking friends to intervene on her behalf — because Kate is said to be considering wearing flowers in her hair," Catherine Ostler wrote for the Daily Mail. The Princess of Wales ultimately wore the stunning Cartier Halo tiara on her special day.

A big reason behind Kate's massive popularity is her connection with people. Every time she is seen interacting with onlookers, she seems to exude warmth and grace. However, there was one thing about her walkabout demeanor that the royal family teased her about, subtly asking her to change her ways. "I think there is a real art to walkabouts; everyone teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting so I think I've still got to learn a little bit more and pick up a few more tips I suppose," the Princess once confessed via Mirror. However, she continues to be a talker to this day, and the fans love her more for it.

Understandably, the Princess must have taken some time to adapt and even bought an outfit once that William considered "inappropriate". One of the Prince's advisors told Cambridge News, "He told Kate she looked as if she’d just run through a charity shop covered in superglue. Everyone thought this was very funny, including, to her credit, Kate." The outfit William was talking about was never revealed.

"The Queen is fed up that Kate hasn't heeded advice to have her hems weighted to prevent her skirts flying up," a palace source said via the Daily Express.
