For years, whispers have swirled about the powerful connections that shaped the coverage, or lack thereof, of Jeffrey Epstein’s and his close aides' crimes. In a posthumous revelation, Virginia Giuffre has alleged that one of America’s biggest networks pulled her explosive interview about Prince Andrew and Epstein to avoid jeopardizing its relationship with the royals, particularly losing access to Prince William and Kate Middleton

In Nobody’s Girl, Giuffre claims ABC News scrapped her 2019 interview with anchor Amy Robach after executives feared they would 'lose access' to the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. According to her, what was to be a major expose and one of her honest interviews never saw the light of day, not because of editorial standards, but because of who might have been offended. However, now, her posthumous memoir has finally given way for the disgraced Duke of York to surrender his titles

Giuffre, in the memoir, revealed that in the emotional interview, she had discussed being 'trafficked' to Andrew by Epstein. But after weeks of silence, she was informed that the network had reached out to Buckingham Palace and Epstein’s attorneys, a move she said left her and her legal team confused and frustrated. “Finally, someone from the network told my legal team that because I’d told Robach about being trafficked to Prince Andrew, the network had to reach out to Buckingham Palace and an attorney for Epstein,” Giuffre recalled. “Why that was causing such delays was unclear. Robach and her producer were outraged. But for whatever reason, ABC never aired the interview.”

What happened next became one of television’s more infamous 'what if' moments. In 2019, months after the interview was buried, a 'hot mic' moment surfaced showing Robach venting her anger that the segment had been shelved. “Every day I get more and more pissed that our interview with Virginia Giuffre didn’t air,” Robach said in the leaked footage. “What we had was unreal.”

The recording captured Robach expressing her frustration that ABC executives dismissed the story at the time. “Who’s Jeffrey Epstein? No one knows who that is. This is a stupid story,” she claimed they told her. She also alleged that both Epstein’s lawyers and the royal family had applied pressure to block the broadcast, suggesting the decision was influenced by concerns over future royal access. “They didn’t want to lose interviews with William and Kate,” Robach reportedly said.

Giuffre’s account in Nobody’s Girl ties directly into this revelation, painting a picture of how influence, reputation, and media gatekeeping may have worked hand-in-hand to protect the establishment. At the time, ABC News denied bowing to pressure, insisting the story did not meet its editorial standards. But the network’s response did little to quiet speculation, especially after Giuffre’s lawsuit against Andrew in 2021 reignited global interest in her allegations. Andrew, for his part, has consistently and categorically denied any wrongdoing. He has maintained that he never met Giuffre, despite the now-infamous photograph showing them together. He settled her civil lawsuit in 2022 for an undisclosed sum while admitting no liability.
