Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly less than thrilled about the prospect of soon living near Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. As the Prince and Princess of Wales prepare to move into Forest Lodge, many can't help but wonder how they'll handle running into their controversial neighbors at nearby Royal Lodge, especially after both William and Middleton recently seemed less than thrilled to be seen with the Yorks.

After William's 'icy' behavior toward Andrew at the Duchess of Kent's funeral went viral, a new Daily Mail video showed Middleton snubbing Ferguson as she walked past her. At the somber gathering, the Princess avoided eye contact and conversation with Fergie, turning her head to face William. According to body language expert Judi James, Middleton's deliberate evasion reflected her role as "the Royal Firm’s protective huntress," aiming to "ward off any unwanted attention and posing on behalf of her husband." Speaking to the outlet, James explained, "Her [Middleton's] peripheral vision sees at first to be aware and wary of Fergie, who is moving around behind and beside her. Her closed hand and her unsmiling expression signal no desire to engage or talk here, just keep the ex-royal in sight."

While Middleton served as a 'protective shield' for William, James described Andrew and Ferguson as "the body language basking sharks of royal family events." She opined, "They appear to take advantage of family outings to position themselves with what will always look like an opportunistic eye." The expert further explained that in recent years, the former Duchess is more confident and happy to engage in conversation with "anyone whose eye she can catch." Ferguson's current behavior, as James notes, is in stark contrast to when the late Queen Elizabeth was alive, as she would often "keep to the chorus line" and simply "weave around furtively behind the other royals."

But it is not just Ferguson. James believes Middleton, after the Queen's death, also underwent a change and positioned herself as a fearless future matriarch. She argued, "While the late Queen was alive, Kate appeared to take a philosophical and often passive approach, trying to create some denial poses with people like Meghan for the sake of royal continuity." She added, "We saw the newer, firmer version of Kate during the Windsor Walkabout after the Queen's death, when she clearly distanced herself from Harry and Meghan despite the fact that William looked under pressure to be polite and amicable." James insisted that Middleton was not afraid to behave the same way with Andrew and Ferguson, as she did with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during the walkabout.

Middleton's firm approach may also be attributed to her 2024 cancer diagnosis, which revealed a renewed sense of purpose and resilience. As per insiders, she is now not afraid of saying no to appease royal expectations.
