Kate Middleton 'May Be Glowing On the Outside' but She's 'Fortunate' in Fighting Cancer: Expert

2024 was a challenging year for Kate Middleton, as she faced several difficulties. After undergoing an abdominal surgery, the Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer. She is currently in remission after completing her preventive chemotherapy in September last year, but an expert has claimed that she was ‘fortunate’ in her battle against the illness. Middleton is also seen less in public, having recently missed the Royal Ascot for the second time, as she's said to be seeking a balance between cancer recovery and royal duties.
Throwing light on Middleton’s cancer battle, royal expert Rebecca English told the Daily Mail that the 43-year-old is “fortunate even to be speaking of recovery.” She noted it was a much closer run than shown in public. While the chain of events from diagnosis to chemotherapy and in remission were quicker than usual, insiders have suggested that the disease took a toll on her.
Reflecting on King Charles's recovery, as he returned to his royal duties while seeking treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer, the expert pointed out, “Every patient is different and that people have no way of knowing exactly what is going on behind the scenes.” English said Charles is “entirely supportive of his his is daughter-in-law's approach”, quoting a source that claimed Middleton may still take years to completely recover from the illness. The insider added, “On some levels, I actually think this is a good reminder that she was really seriously ill last year and underwent a significant period of chemo. As anyone who has been through that experience will tell you, you can feel very unwell for a long time afterwards.”

Middleton recently left her fans worried about her health when she pulled out of the Royal Ascot procession at the last minute. According to the Scottish Daily Express, the festival organizers claimed that the princess’s absence was an administrative error. Whereas, sources close to her alleged she was disappointed to miss out on the royal event but had to strike the right balance between her recovery and public appearance. Referring to her latest move, the expert claimed that Middleton ‘may be glowing on the outside,’ but it was a ‘timely reminder that the princess was really very poorly not so long ago.”
Having attended Trooping the Color and Order of the Garter, two back-to-back high-profile events, Middleton allegedly wants to keep her schedule light. According to the Daily Beast, a source told The Royalist, “The important thing here is Kate’s recovery. It was too much, unfortunately, for her to have three appearances in under a week, and the lesson has been learned. Kate will take it much easier for the rest of the year. I’d be surprised if you see her more than three times in the next three months.” Another source informed the publication, “Kate is recalibrating her entire life, her entire work-life balance. [Ascot] was a wake-up call, not a one-off. She has never found the public appearances, and the forensic attention and criticism that goes with them, at all easy to deal with, and it was just too much this week.”
