Prince William is known for tickling the funny bones during walkabouts and public engagements, but his adorable exchange with a young boy in Berkshire truly takes the cake. Back in May 2023, the Prince and Princess of Wales greeted royal fans near Windsor Castle ahead of King Charles's Coronation Concert. During the visit, a now-viral clip shows the Prince meeting a little boy who innocently asked him when he’d get to meet 'Prince William.' The ensuing sweet chat that followed has left royal watchers completely smitten with William's down-to-earth nature.

@justme_daisy__ William and Catherine’s combos with little kids are always hilarious. I love how they just goes with whatever they tell them and laugh with them about whatever they say😊 🫅: I’m not the government! #uk #princesscatherine #PrinceWilliam #Fatherhood #dukeofcornwall ♬ original sound - Just me Daisy

The clip, which has been reshared on TikTok, was reportedly shared by the boy’s grandmother. As reported by The Sun, upon meeting the future King, the boy adorably asked William, "How long until we are going to be able to see Prince William?" The royal played along, winking at the boy's parents and joking, "We don't know where he is! Have you seen him yet?" After the boy answered in the negative, William can be heard continuing, "Where do you think he is? Do you think he went that way?" When the Prince asks the boy who he thinks he is, the boy responds, "Erm - the government?" Clearly done pulling the boy’s leg, William finally reveals, "My name is William, too." The penny soon drops for the youngster, who exclaims, "You're Prince William - it's Prince William, mummy."

The Prince of Wales is known to have chummy interactions with children during public engagements. In a separate incident on January 23, 2025, William met a St. Nicholas Catholic Academy student, Mohammed, during his visit to Toxteth, Liverpool. As per People magazine, the little boy asked, "Hello, are you the King?" The Prince cheekily replied, "No, I'm not, no. I'm his son." William, wanting to learn more about the boy, followed up, "Did you have a good day at school?" The two then posed for an impromptu selfie, which was shared on the school's social media channels.
