Prince William Throws Secret Pub Party With Kate After Moving Out of 'Cursed' Home
After three years at Adelaide Cottage, Prince William and Kate Middleton have finally moved into Forest Lodge. The couple's relocation marks a fresh chapter, as they turn over a new leaf and leave behind the painful memories of Middleton's 2024 cancer diagnosis. To celebrate the move, the Prince and Princess of Wales hosted a secret pub party at The York Club, thanking the builders and staff who toiled tirelessly to expedite the renovations. The gathering took place just as their three children returned home for the half-term holiday.
William and Middleton had initially planned the move for Christmas, but completed their relocation by Bonfire Night. Describing the royal couple's fun party, a source told the Daily Mail, "The couple very sweetly just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to help." The renovations had been going on nonstop, with builders working 'flat-out' to push the moving date forward. "It is hoped they will be in the new home in time for Bonfire Night. That will make a fun start for the children," said an insider.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be ecstatic about moving into their 'forever home' after enduring difficult years at Adelaide Cottage. Queen Elizabeth passed away just a month after they had moved in. In 2024, both King Charles and Middleton were diagnosed with cancer, which William described as 'brutal.' Although Middleton is currently in remission, sources say the experience has been mentally 'scarring' for the family. Commenting on their tough battles in Adelaide, an insider revealed, "It's a lovely house and they started with such high hopes, but in the end they have experienced some of their most challenging times there as a family... Little wonder that William feels like it was cursed."
Earlier this year, The Sun reported that the Waleses were hence hoping for a 'fresh start.' A source spilled, "Windsor has become their home...Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind." Insiders also stressed that their move would allow William and Middleton to be 'as hands-on as possible' as parents to their three children, while balancing public duties. The pair reportedly plans on continuing to live at Forest Lodge, even after William ascends the throne, thereby breaking centuries-old royal tradition.
As news of William and Middleton's early relocation broke, reports claimed the couple were 'shuddering' at the thought of living next to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, which they allegedly saw as casta shadow over their 'fresh start.' The disgraced royal, who had been residing at Royal Lodge just four miles away, is now expected to move into the Sandringham estate. William is currently in Brazil for the Earthshot Prize, while Middleton is settling into her new home with their three children.
