Invictus Games, Prince Harry's passion project, is returning to the UK; set to be held in Birmingham next year. However, not everyone is convinced that the upcoming games will be successful, especially English presenter and comedian Mark Dolan. But a spokesperson for the organization quickly came to Harry’s defense.

Dolan shared his thoughts on Harry's recent appearance on James Corden's After Hours FOX Sports show during an episode of The Daily Expresso podcast, where he argued it could all "go up in smoke." He said, “He's lost his way. You mentioned that maybe the idea is Meghan's going to be making the money while he's a global influencer... well that's not going well because he's lost control of Sentebale.”

Dolan went on to claim that Invictus is losing sponsors. “And then of course our mutual friend Paula Froelich has revealed that not only are Invictus losing sponsors, including the headline sponsor Boeing, but this could also be the last Invictus next year, and it could all go up in smoke.”

But that is not the case, clarified an Invictus spokesperson who told BirminghamLive the claims were inaccurate. They confirmed that Boeing remains a sponsor, adding that the Games have continued to add new commercial partners, including Defender, a Jaguar Land Rover brand. “Commercial partnerships continue to develop for Birmingham 2027, with further exciting announcements to follow in due course,” he revealed.

As for Boeing, the spokesperson said the company is still partnered with the Invictus Games Foundation through 2027, supporting its sport recovery programs. They added that Boeing also continues to back Invictus Germany and Invictus Australia, with discussions over Birmingham 2027 still active. The representative also shut down claims that Birmingham 2027 would be the final Invictus Games. He pointed out that South Korea has already been announced as the host for the 2029 edition.

During his speech at the Invictus Games One Year To Go event on July 10, Harry said, “What we've seen today shows us that, if anything, this is just the beginning. One year from today, the world will come to the great city of Birmingham, for the Invictus Games 2027. To bring the Games back to the UK – 13 years after London 2014 – feels incredibly special for all of us.”
