William, Prince of Wales, reportedly experienced 'fury' when Prince Harry criticized Kate, Princess of Wales, in his brother's Netflix documentary.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2022 Netflix documentary "horrified" the royal family, but there was one moment in the series when Prince William reportedly erupted into fury.
"I think for so many people in the family, especially obviously the men, there can be a temptation or an urge to marry someone who would fit the mold as opposed to somebody who you perhaps are destined to be with," the fiery-haired Duke bluntly stated.
"The difference between making decisions with your head or your heart," he added. "And my mum certainly made most of her decisions, if not all of them, from her heart. And I am my mother's son."
In the Oprah Winfrey interview, Prince Harry made a general comment about the difficulties women face when marrying into the British royal family. He implied that there is a pattern of struggling with the intense scrutiny and pressures from both the media and the institution itself.
Harry mentioned that he felt history was repeating itself, drawing a parallel between Meghan's experience and that of his mother, Princess Diana. He expressed concern for the well-being of his family and highlighted the lack of support and understanding from the institution regarding these pressures.
William took the quote directly and "knew it was his brother's casually cruel way of cutting someone down," a royal insider claimed.
"The clear inference that he was talking about his elder brother astonished friends of the family," a friend of the future king told author Robert Hardman. "On top of all the other breaches of trust, here was Harry making a blatant attack on Catherine. For William, this was the lowest of the low."
