Prince Harry Has Reportedly Changed His Mind About One Thing Meghan Does With Their Children
The Sussex photo debate may finally be over, with Prince Harry softening his stance over Meghan Markle sharing their children online.
For years, royal commentators have speculated that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle viewed their children's privacy differently, with Harry often portrayed as the more protective parent when it came to public exposure.
In the past, several reports suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held conflicting views about posting photos of their children online. While the Duchess was reportedly comfortable occasionally posting glimpses of Archie and Lilibet, the Duke wanted to shield them from the trolling he experienced growing up in the spotlight. However, a source now claims Harry has softened his stance, allowing Markle to share private family moments and understanding the role they play in supporting her brand and public image.
In an article on his Substack, Naughty But Nice, royal columnist Rob Shuter quoted insiders with knowledge on the Sussexes' alleged photo debate. One reportedly told him, "Harry is completely on board now. There was a time when he wanted the children almost entirely out of public view." On that note, they asserted that he had not only approved the latest photos posted on his daughter's 5th birthday, but had also taken the time to evolve as he built his life outside the royal bubble. They added, "Harry understands that Meghan's brand and public platform occasionally include sharing family moments. He no longer sees that as a threat to their privacy."
With this in mind, sources argued that Harry's key issue was never about Markle sharing the pictures; it was about them falling into the wrong hands. They stressed, "His [Harry's] issue was photographers stalking his children. These images are shared on their terms, when they want, how they want, and that's a huge distinction for him." Markle recently posted a beautiful carousel for Lilibet's 5th birthday, which showed her and Harry lovingly cradling her. Weighing in on the same, an insider spilled, "This wasn't Meghan convincing Harry to do something he didn't want...Harry fully embraces it now. He sees these photos as celebrating family, not sacrificing privacy."
On the contrary, shortly after Markle posted Lilibet's birthday tribute, royal expert Katie Nicholl told The i Paper, "I suspect that Harry is less comfortable with this, knowing that he has gone to great lengths to protect the identity of his children and to shield them from the media." The Sussexes have generally shared photos that obscure their children's faces, allowing occasional glimpses into family life while limiting public exposure.
