New Poll Tightens the Noose Around Andrew as Americans Deliver Their Judgement

For US lawmakers, the fact that Andrew has already faced the consequences of his actions in the UK is a catalyst for American action.

The Epstein scandal is once again boiling over, meaning more trouble for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. After years of scrutiny and the latest batch of three million files released by the US Department of Justice, the American public has finally found its focal point in the ex-Duke. As the demands for accountability grow louder, a majority of Americans are now calling for the former Prince to face a full Congressional inquiry.

According to a poll by Daily Mail/JL Partners, public demand for more transparency has reached a tipping point; the push to get Mountbatten-Windsor under oath is now a mainstream American mandate. The figures are stark, with about 53% of the respondents agreeing that the disgraced royal must finally answer for his history with the late financier. Support for a confrontation isn’t just a one-sided issue; it’s something that both Republicans and Democrats agree on, with 51% and 58%, respectively. What’s really surprising, though, is the gap between men and women. While about 58% of men are ready to see the former Prince on the hot seat, the support among women sits lower at 47%.

The push for Mountbatten-Windsor’s testimony comes as the House Oversight Committee intensifies its depositions of Epstein’s inner circle and associates, including former attorney Richard Kahn and personal lawyer Darren Indyke. For US lawmakers, the fact that Mountbatten-Windsor has already faced the consequences of his actions in the UK — having been stripped of his titles, honors, and residence — is a catalyst for American action. Republican Representative Thomas Massie, who spearheaded the Epstein Files Transparency Act alongside Democratic Representative Ro Khanna, suggests that the US is currently lagging behind the UK’s pursuit of justice.

Speaking to reporters outside the Department of Justice office, Massie stated, “There's becoming a reckoning in Britain that needs to happen in the United States: a prince lost his title, the ambassador to the United States lost his job…We need to see those same kinds of consequences here.” Khanna argued that a cross-party push to bring the ex-Duke before a committee is a necessity. “I do think that Prince Andrew does need to come and testify…the urgency that the British people have shown in getting justice needs to inspire an urgency here in America."

The same demand has been made many times in the past, yet the ex-Duke has always chosen silence. His one high-profile attempt to clear the air — the now-infamous 2019 Newsnight interview — was a trainwreck and effectively ended his status as a working royal. During the same sit-down with Emily Maitlis, he also insisted that he had cut all contact with the disgraced financier in 2010. However, the latest tranche of files tells a far darker tale. The disclosures suggest that he wasn’t just in contact with Epstein, but was allegedly funneling him confidential secrets during his tenure as a UK trade envoy. This revelation directly triggered his arrest on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
