Meghan Markle’s Growing Empire Could Be a Problem For Prince Harry’s Royal Comeback Plans
It's the holiday season - a time for celebration, love, and family. While the Royals are gearing up for the Princess of Wales' annual 'Together on Christmas Carol' service, beyond the pond, things will kick off a little early. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be celebrating Thanksgiving once again, and while their previous year's celebration was kept low-key, things might change this year. With Markle expanding her lifestyle brand, rumor has it she will be doing some promotions for it during the holidays, and is most likely to start off with Thanksgiving.
But while that seems like a great marketing opportunity, it might hamper her husband's efforts to reconcile with his family. It is not a secret that the younger Prince is trying to get back in the good graces of his father and brother. And both King Charles and Prince William are also amenable to the idea. But at this time, Markle's increasing social presence might hinder the progress Harry is making on the familial front.
Royal commentator Pauline Maclaran spoke on the matter with Express, speaking of how the Sussexes are putting a lot of focus on Markle's brand and keeping it at the center of their social media presence. "Meghan certainly seems to have been sharing more of their private side, so she may feature their Thanksgiving celebrations in some way on her Instagram." But this may turn problematic elsewhere.
As recently reported, "It does seem Harry is trying not to stir things with his family. I imagine he would like to see his father more frequently and is mindful of how his behaviors may impact on the King." Harry is trying to keep things on the down-low so that he doesn't cause any problems when he is finally getting to spend more time with his family, especially his father.
The King and Harry have met up a couple of times after his cancer diagnosis was made public last year. Meghan, too, is allegedly on board with her husband spending more time with the Royal Family. And Maclaran has said that chances are the Duchess will be focusing more on Christmas instead of Thanksgiving, as her lifestyle brand's products are more gift-oriented, and what better celebration than Christmas to give gifts.
"I suspect she is saving most of her efforts for the Christmas trade which makes sense as there is much more gift-giving at this time. Her products are ideal as presents! Given her product range, which is much more suitable for presents, I think it would be a mistake to promote her range too much for Thanksgiving given how close to Christmas it is and the risk of consumer fatigue."
The Sussex couple will be celebrating Thanksgiving this Thursday, which is not a holiday that the people of the UK, especially the Royal Family, celebrate. Fans will probably get a glimpse of it on the couple's social media pages. And fingers crossed, no more photos will be taken down after.
