Meghan Markle is expected to set foot on British soil after almost four years, along with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The trip in July aims to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. It represents a significant milestone in the ex-royals relationship with the royal family, as their last major visit was for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. The five-day trip offers a key opportunity for the Duke and Duchess to reconnect with the monarchy, including a planned meeting between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles. However, close sources have revealed that Markle has taken it upon herself to make the trip an unforgettable experience to complete 'unfinished business'.

Insiders have spilled the beans to gossip columnist Rob Shuter, making it clear that Markle wants to rewrite the ending. "Harry’s focus is his family and moving forward,” a source said, which Shuter revealed on his Naughty But Nice's recent edition. “Meghan sees unfinished business. She believes there’s still an opportunity to write a different ending." "This is Meghan’s project, not Harry’s," the source added. "Harry has made peace with much of what happened. Meghan still believes perceptions can change." Firstly, the Sussex brand needs a comeback, as they have been struggling financially to maintain their post-royal-exit lifestyle. Harry's entire agenda is to seek reconciliation with his family, motivated by King Charles's health issues and by a desire for their children to connect with British culture. In contrast, Markle is reportedly resistant to returning due to the emotional toll and media scrutiny, viewing the current opportunity primarily as a strategic way to gain financial ventures and brand partnerships.

Secondly, the Duchess has been aching for a 'rousing' reception upon her return this summer, similar to the positive public engagements enjoyed by Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales. It has been claimed that Markle has regularly discussed with her close friends the grand welcome she experienced at her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, which was watched by thousands in Windsor and millions across the world. "She remembers feeling embraced by Britain,” an insider highlighted to Shuter. "Meghan believes that connection can be rebuilt, but it starts with showing up."

Her recent outing was a special appearance in Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the inauguration of the Lost Screen Memorial and deliver a speech advocating for stronger global protections for children in digital spaces. The Duchess made the move after the Princess of Wales completed a successful trip to Italy for her Early Childhood mission. Insiders claim "Operation Meghan" is bound to succeed, "Meghan has always believed in herself," a source said. "If anyone can pull off a comeback, she thinks it’s her." However, Prince Harry plans to approach a potential family reunion in Britain cautiously, prioritizing his family's privacy and protection.
