While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry don’t shy away from showing their love in public, the former has also found a special way to express admiration for her husband on social media. Days after celebrating Harry’s 42nd birthday, and his first in the UK in several years, Markle was spotted giving a sweet nod to him in her close friend Kelly McKee Zajfen’s new Instagram post. However, one tiny detail gave the adorable move a cheeky twist.
The Sussexes made some sweet cameos in Zajfen’s carousel about her time in the UK. In one such picture, Markle was spotted enjoying a glass of wine with her friend in a scenic location. However, it was not the lush green lawns or the vine-covered pillars, but the Duchess’s cap that caught everyone’s attention. She was sporting a black baseball PH40 cap, most likely from the special collection she designed for Harry’s 40th birthday.
PH naturally stands for Prince Harry, and the 40 denotes his birthday age. While the special occasion was two years ago and the Duke is no longer that age, Markle’s choice to keep using the cap regardless might just prove that the Duchess is a fashion recycler and loves showing off her husband. She appeared in casual attire, pairing the cute cap with a black jacket, matching tights, and slippers.
Markle first revealed the PH40 caps during an episode of With Love, Meghan, season 2. She packed for her girls’ trip to Los Angeles and showed viewers her travel essentials. Flaunting the cute baseball cap, she said, “Now we get into the things that bring me joy. I always have a baseball cap. I made these for my husband’s 40th birthday for him and his friends.” Well, true to her word, the Duchess carried the baseball cap across the pond with her.
While fans would certainly appreciate this sweet gesture, they have been waiting to see Markle join Harry during a public engagement. Since returning to the UK last month, the Duke has made solo appearances at high-profile events in his home country, including the Invictus Games Spirit Awards and Gala, and the WellChild Awards. Although his wife was missing from these moments, she tipped her hat to Harry’s work by posting a heartwarming video from the WellChild Awards to her Instagram story, to Sam Garrett’s ‘I believe’.
On a more personal front, Markle has had a topsy-turvy return to the UK. The Sussexes had to pull Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet out of their new schools days after joining due to security concerns. A day later, it was revealed that Markle’s WhatsApp number had been leaked.
