King Charles Quietly Sends a Message To Harry and Meghan With His Latest Move at Highgrove
Royal photographer Chris Jackson recently shared a photo of Highgrove that revealed the reshuffle.
The rift between King Charles and Prince Harry keeps on widening, as he also kept his son at a distance during the state visit to the US. Reports also suggest that he is pushing Harry and Meghan Markle out of more royal spaces. Highgrove is known to be the monarch's favorite place to stay. Over the years, he has painstakingly moulded the property according to his preferences and is said to house many personal memorabilia, including family photographs. However, it seems that he has recently reshuffled some special picture frames at his beloved countryside estate.
Popular royal photographer Chris Jackson recently visited Highgrove for a talk, and since he has been behind many special photographs of the royal family over the years, he would obviously encounter many of his works adorning royal households. His recent experience at the countryside property was no different. He shared some glimpses from his time there on his Instagram stories.
One of the shots featured two photo frames adorning a table at Highgrove, as Jackson cheekily wrote, “I recognize these!”, hinting that he was the one behind the camera for those precious moments. However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice something peculiar in Jackson’s story and a picture shared by influencer Lydia Millen in 2024. Both shots featured the same table at Highgrove, but the picture frames displayed on it were glaringly different.
Millen’s photo featured three frames, one photo of Charles, Prince Harry and Prince William, another being Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation portrait, and the third being a family portrait from Meghan Markle and Harry’s wedding. While the picture of King Charles and his sons was still on the table in Jackson’s Instagram story, the last two portraits have been replaced by a single photo frame of Charles and his grandson, Prince Louis. In the new addition, the King can be seen holding the prince when he was still a baby.
While there is a major probability that the photos were displayed somewhere else in Highgrove, the latest update was another sore reminder of the rift between the Sussexes and the royal family. However, the reshuffle also highlighted the love that Charles has for both his sons, as his picture with them seems to have stood the test of time. The change of frames possibly also confirms the long-standing popular belief that Louis is the monarch’s favorite grandchild.
There has been a lot of push and pull between Harry and Charles ever since the former chose to step away from the royal family and move to the US. Last month, the King had been on a four-day state visit to the US, but did not meet with his son, daughter-in-law or grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. To be fair, the Sussexes reside on the Western coast, while all of Charles’ engagements were scheduled on the Eastern Coast.
