George, Charlotte and Louis Will Play an 'Important' Role at This Year's Trooping the Color, Expert Says
The commentator insisted that it is very important for George, Charlotte and Louis to understand the value of tradition.
Over the last few days, preparations have been in full swing for this year’s Trooping the Colour, one of the biggest events in the royal calendar. While anticipation continues to build around the royal guest list, senior working royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are widely expected to join the celebrations and the iconic Buckingham Palace balcony appearance. In recent news, royal commentator Rafe Heyde-Mankoo has claimed that the three Wales’ children are expected to take on an especially important role during King Charles’s annual birthday parade this year.
As reported by GB News, Heyde-Mankoo said, "The nation's bond with the Royal Family starts when they first see the royal baby, they see their first day at school. They see them behaving or misbehaving at grand royal events." He added, "That's where you actually get that emotional connection between the population and members of the Royal Family, because we essentially see them grow up through every stage of life."
The commentator went on to emphasize that it is very important for George, Charlotte, and Louis to grow up understanding the value of tradition, continuity, and responsibility, and these are the lessons that will be clearly reflected in the ceremony on Saturday. "It allows them to essentially, also by growing up in the public eye, to become more comfortable with their future role, which is going to, of course, be increasingly in the public eye, and it gives them a living classroom about their unique role in British life," Heyde-Mankoo added. He believes that such occasions help the young royals understand the bond between the monarchy and the armed forces.
Meanwhile, the children’s behavior on the Buckingham Palace balcony has also increasingly become a key point of discussion for fans. For instance, George is typically seen as a composed and well-behaved elder brother, with Charlotte closely mirroring his conduct. However, Louis has developed a playful reputation, often stealing the spotlight with his lighthearted and mischievous antics during any major public appearances. During last year’s celebrations, Louis delighted the crowd as he waved constantly to draw warm applause. But in a moment of sibling guidance, George was seen gently stepping in and pulling his brother’s arm back.
Speaking of this, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said, "Clearly, the younger they are, the less controllable they are. And therefore, Louis will scream at planes, or George will have shown a special interest in something." He added, "George is exemplary, and Charlotte certainly too, far more restrained than Louis, who, of course, is younger, so that's what you expect." This year’s parade will also be George’s last before he enters his teenage years next month.
