Experts Fear Andrew Could Monetize Royal Secrets if He's Financially Cut Off by King Charles
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor not only brought shame to the royal family due to his ties with convicted financier Jeffrey Epstein but is also increasingly viewed as a financial risk. Several royal experts believe the disgraced royal could turn against his own family and sell royal secrets if the need arises and if King Charles cuts him off. He is currently going through a rough patch, yet has reportedly failed to rein in his spending. With no royal title and no treasury support backing him, the former duke must now rely on his military pension, which can barely sustain his extravagant lifestyle.
So what alternatives does the former prince have? He could either scale back his lifestyle and keep a low profile- something experts believe is unlikely- or seek out an alternative source of income. Speaking to The Sun, royal commentators Samara Gill and Cameron Walker expressed fears that Mountbatten-Windsor could turn against his family by releasing tell-all details in exchange for money. Adding to his troubles, he recently suffered another blow when his last remaining military title, Vice Admiral, was also stripped from him, reportedly leaving the former prince feeling unsettled and increasingly tempted.
“I’m thinking that as more and more comes out, he will be more privy to sharing things about the royal family and trading secrets for cash," opined Gill, referring to the possibility of more Epstein files being released- developments that would only add to Mountbatten-Windsor’s misery. Walker added, "Well, he’s never going to be a completely private individual because although all of his titles have been taken away, he is still the King’s brother and he’s still supposedly the favourite son of the late Queen Elizabeth II." He elaborated that, despite the loss of his titles, Mountbatten-Windsor remains part of The Firm.
“And the danger, I think, for the Royal Family, and particularly the King, is if you completely cast him out and give him no financial support or no housing support whatsoever… he needs to get money from somewhere," explained Walker. The royal expert also emphasized that financial pressure was likely the very reason Mountbatten-Windsor associated with billionaire Epstein, as the then-prince’s military income was never sufficient to support his lifestyle.
“But what’s next? Is he going to write a tell-all memoir, go down the Harry route, and make lots of money… if his brother doesn’t give him any? That’s the danger," Walker added. He also cited Prince Harry’s example of earning money through Netflix and his memoir, Spare. Ingrid Seward previously told The Sun how Mountbatten-Windsor was shaken after his military honorary rank was taken away. "He might feel that enough is enough, and they’re really digging at him now," Seward opined.
According to experts, the former duke will be deeply hurt by these developments and could soon snap. The former prince reportedly believes he earned his title, and having it stripped away will only deepen his bitterness- but the damage is already done. Royal watchers fear Mountbatten-Windsor is now permanently trapped in the Epstein scandal, with his name forever tied to the disgraced financier.
