Expert Reveals The Whopping Amount Meghan is Getting Paid For a Girls' Weekend in Australia
Amid rumors of financial trouble for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duchess is heading to Sydney with a $1 million appearance fee.
Despite reports that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are facing serious financial pressure, the Duchess appears to be doing just fine. She is being paid $1 million to headline a luxury girls' weekend in Australia, and she does not have to spend a dime on anything, from first-class flights to her personal stylist. The retreat, organized by Jackie 'O' Henderson's event company, will run from April 17 to April 19 at the InterContinental Hotel in Coogee.
The Duchess of Sussex is heading to Sydney, Australia, where she will headline a luxury wellness retreat, and Rob Shuter reported that it comes with a guaranteed $1 million appearance fee—and an all-expenses-paid arrangement so comprehensive that even her hairstylist's flight is covered. "Meghan is being paid extremely well for this," one insider told Shuter, who took to his Substack to write that "her fee is around a million dollars, and the trip itself is completely taken care of."
And ‘completely’ here is anything but an exaggeration. Sources say the package includes first-class flights, a luxury hotel suite, full security detail, stylists, hair and makeup, and a personal assistant—an entourage of roughly four people whose every need is accounted for before the Duchess even boards the plane.
"Everything is covered," the source explained. "First-class flights, a luxury hotel suite, security, stylists, hair and makeup, her assistant—the whole entourage of about four people... It's a full VIP operation," the insider added. "They're rolling out the red carpet for her." On the other side of that red carpet, around 300 guests will gather at the five-star InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach hotel for a three-day wellness weekend—paying approximately £1,400, or $1,800 each, for access to yoga sessions, meditation, sound healing, and an intimate gala dinner conversation with Markle herself.
VIP ticket holders, who pay a premium above that, will also receive front-row seats and a group photo with the Duchess. The event comes at a crucial moment in Markle's career. With her Netflix lifestyle partnership now behind her, she has been actively building out a new commercial chapter. One source earlier confided in The Daily Mail, stating, "Netflix was not happy," the source said. "They were not happy with the fact that no one really cared about the brand, so when they were looking to create As Ever areas in Netflix House, there was no appetite for it. And this event is probably what she needs right now," the source added. "Events like this are incredibly profitable," the source says. "She can command huge speaking fees."
Prince Harry is expected to join her on the trip to Australia, though the couple's children will remain at home in California. For Meghan, the trip is many things at once—but above all, it is a business move worth a million dollars before she has uttered a single word. "For Meghan," the insider added, "this trip is equal parts business and branding."
