Beatrice and Eugenie Live In Belief That 'Normal Rules Don't Really Apply' To Them, Claims Insider
After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson renounced their royal titles, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were left red-faced in the aftermath. Though they were allowed to keep their royal honors, they will forever be associated with their parents' past misgivings. Weighing in on their situation, sources have accused the sisters of being unbothered and of inheriting their parents' sense of entitlement. According to a former aide, their silver-spoon upbringing has left them 'tainted by association' and too comfortable with privilege.
A Palace insider revealed that Beatrice and Eugenie were well-mannered and intelligent, but 'they've lived in a world where everything comes easily.' Speaking to OK!, in an exclusive, they added, "They've been conditioned to assume opportunities will just appear. It's very much like their parents – the privilege, the questionable associations, and the belief that normal rules don't really apply." While both sisters enjoy successful independent careers, sources say their social circles and financial dealings have, at times, mirrored those of Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson. Beatrice currently runs her business consultancy and describes herself as a Private Equity Analyst, while Eugenie is an associate director at the art gallery Hauser & Wirth.
Commenting on the Princess's alleged shady social circle, a former staff member spilled, "Andrew opened plenty of doors for his daughters in the Middle East, introducing them to wealthy and influential people – some of whom caused concern behind the scenes." The insider was likely referring to Mountbatten-Windsor's 2022 shady financial dealings when Buckingham Palace informed bankers that a $986,278 payment was made to then-Prince Andrew as a 'gift' for Beatrice's wedding. In reality, a Turkish millionaire claimed she was duped into sending the money. Reflecting on the chaos that ensued, a source argued, "When your father's reputation is under scrutiny and your name keeps surfacing in money matters, it creates a cloud over everything. They're [Beatrice and Eugenie] working hard to be taken seriously, but the connection hurts them."
Similarly, another source has previously echoed Beatrice and Eugenie's alleged 'privileged' upbringing, pointing out Mountbatten-Windsor's shady connections. They told the Daily Mail, "They [Beatrice and Eugenie] were never going to be working royals but have benefited from their family connection. Andrew introduced them to many of his business contacts and foreign royals." The insider, arguing their case, cited an incident where Beatrice had her BMW stolen in 2009 after leaving it unlocked with the car keys in the ignition. They stressed, "I think she [Beatrice] was used to her police protection officer looking after such things."
Royal author Andrew Lownie, who wrote the scathing book Entitled, on Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson's lives, also made shocking revelations about the Princesses' comfortable childhood. In serialized excerpts, the biographer alleged an ex-staffer told him, "Every night she [Ferguson] demands a whole side of beef, a leg of lamb, and a chicken, which are laid out on the dining room table like a medieval banquet." The aide claimed that the feast was only made for Ferguson, Beatrice, and Eugenie, most of which was callously thrown away the next day. These new claims don't help the York sisters in the slightest, given the circumstances. Then again, Prince William did warn letting Beatrice and Eugenie into the Firm so soon wouldn't bode well for the Royal Family. For now, it's a waiting game.
