Andrew's Surprise France Getaway Revealed — and His Mystery Host Has a Royal Connection
As scrutiny continues to follow him, fresh details have emerged about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's latest private escape.
Over the past few months, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has faced intense public scrutiny as a series of controversies involving him have continued to generate headlines. It included multiple allegations related to his past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, police reviews of several new claims of his wrongdoings, questions surrounding his finances, and much more. Despite all the drama, the former prince recently made a surprise trip overseas, sparking renewed public attention.
Although he has largely stayed out of the British spotlight, the former Duke was recently seen enjoying a private holiday in France. As reported by the Daily Mail, he allegedly spent a quiet weekend in Brittany alongside sportswear tycoon Mohammed A. Baker. The visit also included a stay at a countryside property near the port city of Saint-Malo in northwestern France. Mountbatten-Windsor is said to have traveled aboard Baker's private aircraft, with the short holiday believed to have taken place between May 30 and June 1.
Speaking about the trip, a French racehorse trainer, Arthur Desprez, said, “Andrew was the guest of Mohammed Baker. He stayed at his house.” Not just this, a local farm worker also said, "The royal man came for a few days. He had a bodyguard with him, just one. Mohammed was in France for a few days and must have invited him to stay. It would have been a relaxing weekend. They rode horses together." The person also added, "There is a path straight from the farm to the beach, which is a couple of kilometers away. It's a very beautiful spot and very empty. They like to take the horses there and run on the beach."
They continued, "The prince and Mohammed also played boules together in the courtyard, outside the main house. The prince stayed in the house where Mohammed lives. It is a big house, and it has lots of bedrooms. And the food and wine when he is your host is of exceptional quality." While Mountbatten-Windsor and Baker were not previously known to be connected, the duo does share some influential connections. For instance, both of them have links to Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with Baker serving as a UAE trade envoy and the former Prince having met the Sheikh on numerous occasions during his time as a UK trade representative.
Additionally, the duo shares a passion for horses. The former prince has often been seen riding in the years following his withdrawal from public life, while Baker is known for his involvement in the equestrian world.
