Megyn Kelly Slams Meghan Markle's Role in Her Marriage to Harry: 'She Doesn't Know Who She Is'

On her podcast, Megyn Kelly lambasted Meghan Markle, calling her thin-skinned when it comes to tolerating public criticism.

Being in the public eye comes with its share of baggage, often in the form of enduring criticism for little to no reason. And who knows this better than Meghan Markle? Since her 2018 marriage to Prince Harry, nearly every detail of her life has been scrutinized. One of her most vocal critics remains journalist Megyn Kelly, who has never shied away from sharing her two cents on their union. On a recent episode of her podcast, she once again lambasted Markle's strong influence over Harry, claiming that the Duchess struggled with her identity behind closed doors.

On her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly dissected Harry and Markle's February 15 NBA game outing, citing it as an argument for Markle 'playing a role' in her marriage. Pointing out an irony, she slammed, "She [Markle] recently attended an NBA game and, because she doesn't really like publicity, she sat courtside." Speaking about a viral video, which showed the Duchess touching the Duke's arm and asking him to smile at the cameras, she added, "You can't miss the, 'Darling, this is the whole reason we're here… Look into the d--- camera and get me my shot. If you're not looking, then they're not looking at me.'"

Doubling down on her blunt opinions, Kelly mentioned Markle's alleged thin skin towards criticism, which, according to her, is a part and parcel of being in the spotlight. She continued, "If you put yourself out into the public sphere as a public figure… You have to accept that this is part of the deal… You really do have to know who you are to be able to handle this." She further stressed, "And I think that is part of the problem with this woman.[Markle] She doesn't know who she is at all."

The discussion then touched upon the Duke's recent visit to the UK, where he testified against unlawful information gathering by the press. During the trial, he had tearfully recalled how constant media harassment made Markle's life difficult. Weighing in on his take, Kelly argued, "Even in that court proceeding, he [Harry] was talking about how [Markle] was treated abominably by the British press corps…[Harry] only started to get upset when she started to behave badly, and they wrote about that too." She also opined that Markle's problem was her attempt to fulfill her identity with a powerful marriage, but "it is a black hole because it is a black hole of identity inside."

Unsurprisingly, this isn't Kelly's first blistering criticism of Markle and Harry. In a conversation with the Daily Mail, she believed that the Sussexes may be headed for the same fate as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor concerning their royal titles. "King William, in whatever years it takes after he ascends, I think he's going to take away their [Harry and Markle's] royal titles, and that should happen ASAP," reiterating her claim that the couple has become more brand than bloodline.
