Andrew Receives the Ultimate Humiliation in New Burial Plans Alongside a Forgotten Royal
Andrew’s fall from grace continues as reports suggest a scaled-down burial, far from the grand royal farewell he once expected.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been in the midst of controversy ever since his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein resurfaced. Since then, he has been stripped of his royal titles and also evicted from his longtime home, Royal Lodge. As a final act of humiliation, the former Prince has reportedly (via Scottish Daily Express) had to let go of any hopes for a grand, ceremonial send-off. Instead, his funeral is now expected to be far more low-key, closer to how lesser-known or sidelined royals are laid to rest.
Once a senior member of the monarchy, Mountbatten-Windsor’s dramatic fall from grace has reshaped not just his public image but even what his final arrangements might look like. He had reportedly imagined a classic royal send-off at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, the kind usually reserved for senior members of the family. But those plans now seem to be off the table.
Instead, there is growing talk that he could be buried much more quietly, perhaps alongside Prince John at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham. John is the only royal who was buried at Sandringham Church. Born in 1905, he lived with epilepsy, and when his condition became more serious, he was moved to Sandringham. He spent much of his time there in a quieter, more sheltered environment and formed close bonds with local children.
Disgraced ex-Prince Andrew was friends with Jeffrey Epstein from the late 1990s after being introduced by Ghislaine Maxwell. However, things really started to unravel for the former Duke in 2019, when his connection with the felon came back into the spotlight. He was accused by Virginia Giuffre of s*xually abusing her as a minor. The case was later settled out of court, although he has consistently denied every accusation. Following these events, the late Queen Elizabeth stripped him of his military titles and patronages.
However, the situation started to spiral yet again for Mountbatten-Windsor with the release of every new batch of Epstein files. King Charles stripped him of his royal titles “Prince,” “HRH,” and “Duke of York” and other military honors late last year. Charles also pushed him out of the Royal Lodge along with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and distanced him from official royal life. He was then arrested on his 66th birthday over suspicion of misconduct in public office. On February 19, he was detained due to allegations that he shared sensitive information with the late financier while serving as a UK trade envoy.
To deepen the sense of his ongoing fall from grace, a recent exclusive report from OK! Magazine claims that Prince William and Charles are exploring ways to remove Mountbatten-Windsor from the line of succession. He remains eighth in line to the throne, and any attempts to remove him have not really gone anywhere. It is mainly because the process is too long and even more complicated, and there is no clear precedent in existing law.
After getting kicked out of the Royal Lodge, Mountbatten-Windsor stayed at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. However, reportedly, he has permanently relocated to the Marsh Farm in the same estate. Following hefty renovations, the former prince is said to have shifted to the said location on Easter Monday.
