Ted Cruz Slams Meghan Markle Over ‘Most Trolled Person’ Claim — Then Reveals Who Truly Holds the Title
Meghan Markle’s comment about being the “most trolled” sparks a response from Ted Cruz, who doesn’t quite agree with her take
Meghan Markle is currently in the middle of her ongoing Australia trip alongside her husband, Prince Harry. During one of the appearances, the Duchess shared that she is "the most trolled person in the entire world.” But American Senator Ted Cruz outright disagreed with her statement.
The Senator brushed off Markle’s claim, saying that the title probably belongs to Donald Trump instead. He said told TMZ, “I'd probably say it's Donald Trump.” When asked if all the mockery aimed at the president is justified, Cruz explained that some trolling is fair and some of it just is not. He also admitted he has been on the receiving end himself, saying, “When it's funny, I laugh!" Even though he was not buying Markle’s claim, Cruz still gave her props as an actress and said that Suits is “awesome.”
On their third day in Australia, which is being dubbed a quasi-royal tour, the couple visited Swinburne University of Technology for a Youth Mental Health discussion organized by Batyr. As Markle addressed the young students, she encouraged them to stay strong and keep going, drawing from her own experiences of living in the spotlight. She said, “And I can speak to that really personally, which is why I like to listen, because it rings true for me in a very real way. For now, 10 years—every day for 10 years—I have been bullied and attacked. And I was the most trolled person in the entire world. Now, I’m still here.”
Markle also pointed to the bigger picture, saying the systems behind social media probably are not changing anytime soon. “That industry, that billion-dollar industry, that is completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks – that’s not going to change. So you have to be stronger than that.”
On their final day in Sydney, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a packed schedule from start to finish. They began with a visit to Bondi Beach, where they met survivors, families, and first responders, and spent some time with locals and lifeguards. From there, the couple headed to Sydney Harbour to join members of Invictus Australia for a sailing event, interacting with veterans and their families. Later, he will attend a Super Rugby Pacific match at Allianz Stadium where the NSW Waratahs will face Moana Pasifika.
Markle is also set to attend the “Her Best Life” wellness retreat in the evening, where she is the headliner. The three-day weekend getaway is described as the “ultimate girls' weekend,” where 300 women will be attending the event. Organized by Gemma O'Neill, who hosts the Her Best Life podcast, praised Markle by saying, “I have admired this woman and what she has endured, how she’s risen above it and how she has demonstrated how a woman can be pushed down, and she can still rise.”
