King Charles and Queen Camilla in their Autumn Tour are celebrating everything that makes the Caribbean so special. Filled with heartfelt church services, lighthearted moments, engaging visits, unique cultural performances, unexpected experiences, and surprise meetings, the nine-day Autumn Tour can certainly be called a great success. Now on the final leg of their 2026 tour, the Royal Couple has arrived in Antigua and Barbuda, where the visit will culminate in a major summit, the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Ahead of CHOGM, the royal couple’s latest stop took them to the historic Nelson’s Dockyard, where the King was greeted by an excited crowd. During the engagement, His Majesty learned about Antigua and Barbuda's efforts to protect their incomparable natural resources and uniquely built heritage. Just after placing an engraved stone into a wall to commemorate his visit, Charles also had an unexpected reunion with Luther star Sir Idris Elba, who happened to be attending another event at the site.

The Monarch walked over to shake hands with the celebrated actor, who greeted him like an old friend and asked, “How are you?” Charles looked pleasantly surprised, asking Elba, “What are you doing here?” Smiling warmly, Elba patted the King affectionately on the arm and replied, "I get around!" Sir Idris then asked, “How are you doing, though? Are you having a good time?” The King nodded affirmatively. Elba also introduced Charles to his friend, David Sengeh, the Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, noting that they were collaborating on a project. However, the highlight came at the very end of their interaction, when Elba cheekily remarked, “Sorry about the rain yesterday!”

The remark was met with a warm laugh from the King, while Sir Idris chuckled and patted his shoulder. As the King and Queen prepared for their major summit with Commonwealth leaders, this unexpected encounter provided a fitting conclusion to their visit to Nelson’s Dockyard. The actor’s cheeky apology added yet another memorable moments to Charles and Camilla’s Caribbean tour. Between the warm receptions, rich cultural events, gracious hospitality, and delightful surprises, the final leg of their 2026 Autumn Tour has undoubtedly proven to be its crown jewel.
