Snoop Dogg Uses Two Unexpected Words to Describe Queen Elizabeth in Sweet Tribute
Snoop Dogg has never been shy about unlikely alliances. But his latest remarks have added an unexpected name to that list: Queen Elizabeth. During a light-hearted moment at the Winter Olympics, the rapper offered a candid tribute to the late monarch. The moment surfaced in an Instagram Reel shared by Martha Stewart on February 18, as the duo toured Milan’s historic opera house, La Scala. The pair, who have built a long-running and surprisingly seamless friendship, were informed they were about to step into the venue’s royal box, a space once occupied by the late Queen during an official visit.
When told of the significance of the setting, Snoop reacted instantly. “The royal box?” he gasped, as Stewart clarified, “We are about to be in the royal box. Where Queen Elizabeth sat!” The news appeared to genuinely thrill him. “Oh wow, the Queen was my lady. That was my home girl,” he declared.
In a past interview with The Guardian, Snoop had also credited the late monarch with helping smooth his path. “When they tried to kick me out of England, The Queen made a comment that her grandbabies loved Snoop Doggy Dogg, and he had done no wrong in the UK, so she gave me permission to be here,” he once said. He went on to add, “Those grandbabies grew up to be Prince William and Harry, so I had influence on them, and they had influence on their grandmother, which enabled me to get into this beautiful country. They love my music, and it is what it is. There’s a mutual love and respect.”
Snoop’s latest comments at La Scala suggest that, in his world at least, Queen Elizabeth remains more than a historical figure. She is, as he put it, his 'home girl.' His affection for the royal family was also on display during a 2024 radio appearance in the UK. Dogg joined DJ Jordan North on Capital FM, where he steered the conversation towards Buckingham Palace. According to PEOPLE, North raised a long-circulating rumor, telling the rapper, “Well, I've heard the future king, [Prince] William, is a huge Snoop fan.” Snoop did not hesitate to confirm it — and then broadened the claim to include the late monarch herself. “Well, the Queen was a fan too. Rest in peace, the Queen; that was my girl. You know what I'm saying?” he said. Keeping the tone playful, Dogg added that whenever he is in Britain, “I'll go by the palace, see if they let me in.”
