Sometimes, even an unexpected downpour can turn into a moment worth smiling about. Queen Camilla proved exactly that during her Caribbean tour with King Charles, when heavy rain interrupted their royal engagement. While the weather may not have been on their side, the Queen appeared to find the funny side of the situation, enjoying a light-hearted moment even as the rain poured down around them.
King Charles found himself caught in a heavy downpour during Antigua and Barbuda's 45th Independence Day Parade. As the rain continued to pour, the monarch repeatedly gestured for an umbrella, which took a little while to arrive. https://t.co/Qkc3PdEFoL

Charles and Camilla were attending Antigua and Barbuda's annual independence parade on Sunday, November 1, marking the country's 45th anniversary of independence, when the weather took a turn. With the event held outdoors at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, evading the rain was not an option, which left the King and Queen caught in the middle of a tropical downpour. However, rather than letting the unexpected weather spoil the occasion, Camilla appeared visibly amused by the situation.
Soon after reaching shelter under an aide's umbrella, the Queen was seen struggling to contain her laughter as the rain continued to pour. However, Charles was not quite as quick to find cover. As Camilla was escorted away, the King remained standing in the rain, seemingly waiting for someone to bring him an umbrella. Looking rather bemused, he even mimed holding an umbrella while glancing around at the crowd.

Soon, a few of his aides tried to find a suitable rain shield for His Majesty and got him an umbrella, allowing the ceremony to continue. However, the highlight was definitely how, once Camilla was safely under cover, she appeared to let go of her attempts to keep a straight face. The Queen was seen bursting into laughter, with her shoulders shaking as she appeared to find the entire situation rather amusing. You can watch the video here.

Of course, the tropical rain did have one casualty: her hair. The Queen's usually neatly styled blonde locks began looking noticeably frizzy as the wet weather continued. However, she did not appear particularly bothered by it. The rainy engagement was part of Charles and Camilla's autumn Caribbean tour, which includes visits to Antigua and Barbuda as well as the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Charles had already completed the first two legs of the nine-day tour in the Bahamas and Guyana before Camilla joined him for a shorter itinerary. The royal couple is expected to wrap up their Caribbean visit on November 4.
