The royal rift between Prince William and Prince Harry has only grown in recent years, contrary to what fans have hoped. Once inseparable, the brothers reportedly haven't been on speaking terms for over 2 years now, and Harry’s string of damaging remarks in his BBC interview earlier this month has made matters only worse. However, an unlikely peacemaker may mend ties—singer Snoop Dogg. The US-born rapper has made a ‘bold’ offer to help ‘reunite’ the feuding brothers, once and for all.
The famous rapper, who lives close to Harry and Markle’s Montecito home, revealed that his relationship with the brothers goes back a long way. He told The Mirror, “Harry asked me to perform at William's bachelor party, but I couldn't make it. Anything they want to perform at now, I am there.” Dogg added, “They are brothers, man. Anything that gets them in the same room and being brothers again will be worth it. Life is too short to not make things right, and if Snoop can help heal that relationship, then let's do it.” The hip-hop icon has previously described the brothers as his 'boys', adding that they've been 'cool' since he reached out to them after learning that they were fans.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the rapper also said he 'respects' Harry and Markle for living their lives on their terms. He was proud to support the duo despite “the whole world judging them.” Interestingly, Dogg also revealed that he has a close bond with footballer David Beckham, Harry and Markle’s arch-nemesis. He dished, “From the first time we met, we had a good connection, and our friendship just went from there…but as the years went on, our friendship became deeper.” The Sussexes had infamously accused David and his wife, Victoria Beckham, of leaking personal stories about them to the press. They have also been spotted hanging out with their son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, who left their family after alleged mistreatment.
While the hip-hop icon is eager to reunite the royal brothers, a recent survey suggests that he’s indeed the best person for the job. As per the Daily Record, Casino.com compiled a chart of the brothers’ mutual famous friends and published their findings. The betting company has the rapper score the highest with a 44% chance of successfully bringing the brothers back together. Other contending peacemakers in the chart include Harry and William's father, Charles, with a 40% probability of success, and their late mother, Princess Diana's good friend, Sir Elton John, in fourth place at 33.3%.
Harry and William’s relationship reportedly unraveled after Markle joined the royal family. Tensions escalated when Harry stepped down as a senior royal in 2020 and moved to California. He later claimed in his memoir, Spare, that William and his wife, Kate Middleton, treated Markle poorly.
