Insiders reveal Guy Ritchie’s casting talks for The Gentlemen Season 3 are turning into a battle of star power—and Meghan is just one of the chess pieces.

This grand move has clearly turned the couple’s life upside down but at the same time left them hopeful about the future. In fact, Markle is reportedly very excited to restart her acting career with a fierce comeback, with rumors even linking her to Guy Ritchie's The Gentleman. Unfortunately, after Netflix made a rather cryptic comment, fans were left questioning her screen return, and now, insiders are adding a whole new twist to the story.
According to insiders who spoke to Rob Shuter on his Naughty But Nice Substack, Markle seems to believe people should assume her casting is already a done deal. However, reports suggest Guy Ritchie’s top choice may actually be someone else: reality star Kim Kardashian, who recently earned praise for her role as ‘Allura Grant’ in Ryan Murphy’s legal drama All’s Fair. As one source explained, “Guy loves controversy, star power, and people who instantly get everyone talking—and Kim delivers all three.” That potential preference could explain why the show-runners reportedly haven’t finalized anything with Markle just yet.
They further added, “Meghan is absolutely in the conversation, but she's not the only one. If Guy could land Kim, she would be his first choice." While Netflix greenlit the third season, ongoing conversations about casting are simply possibilities, not guarantees or formal offers. As one insider put it, “The idea that Meghan is having some exclusive courtship with Guy is nonsense!” They further added, "This is Hollywood. Producers talk to multiple stars, agents, and managers at the same time. Nobody has been handed the crown." The insider also explained how, when it comes to Kardashian, there are a lot of advantages of landing her in the cast.
After all, Kardashian brings immense popularity due to her massive global following, along with glowing recommendations and growing acting experience. On the other hand, Markle offers the ability to dominate the news cycle with headlines, which is “intriguing” but reportedly doesn’t make her “irresistible.” As another source explained, “Meghan would create noise. Kim would create an earthquake. Guy understands that controversy can be incredibly valuable when you're trying to make television people cannot stop talking about". It appears Markle is simply one of several options as Season 3 casting remains in its early stages. As another insider put it, “Everyone in Hollywood wants to believe they're the one being chased. Until there's an offer and a signature, you're not cast; you're just another conversation!”
