Second Woman Alleges Epstein Sent Her to Andrew, Lawyers Demand Palace Response
Trigger Warning: This article contains themes of sexual abuse that some readers may find distressing.
Legal representatives for a second woman, who says she was sent to the UK by Jeffrey Epstein for an encounter with the former Prince Andrew, are putting pressure on the King’s legal counsel to issue a "real apology." The demand comes as more than three million documents released by the US Department of Justice shed light on the extent of Epstein’s ties to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor—and to his former wife.
Brad Edwards, of the US law firm Edwards Henderson, has previously said that his client, who is not British and was in her 20s at the time, alleges she spent the night with Andrew at Royal Lodge in 2010 and was later given a tour of Buckingham Palace, per The Guardian. In a statement to PA Media, Brittany Henderson, also of Edwards Henderson, said theformer Duke of York’s status was central to the alleged abuse. “Andrew’s power only existed because of his royal family. Andrew’s complicity and involvement with Epstein and Maxwell has been well known to us, to Andrew, and to the palace for many years,” she said.
Henderson dismissed suggestions that Mountbatten-Windsor testifying in the US would resolve matters, adding, “Whether he comes to the United States to testify is irrelevant; we hardly need more people over here spinning grand stories.”
She went on to call directly on Charles’s legal representatives to act. “For the royal family to maintain any level of credibility in the eyes of the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein, the legal team for the king should contact me immediately in a good faith effort to learn what Andrew has done, meet whomever he has done it to, issue a sincere and real apology, and ensure that any victims of Andrew are fairly compensated for this wrongdoing.”
Virginia Giuffre is the woman whose allegations first placed Mountbatten-Windsor at the centre of the Epstein scandal and forced the Royal Family into an unprecedented legal and reputational crisis. She has consistently alleged that she was trafficked by Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell and compelled to engage in intimate actions with the then Duke of York on multiple occasions when she was 17. Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied her claims, but Giuffre’s civil lawsuit in the United States marked the first time a senior member of the British royal family faced such direct legal exposure over s------ assault allegations.
In 2022, Mountbatten-Windsor settled Giuffre’s civil case for a reported $15 million without any admission of liability, a move that effectively ended the lawsuit but did little to quiet public scrutiny. While the settlement spared Mountbatten-Windsor a court appearance, it cemented Giuffre’s role as a central figure in the wider reckoning over Epstein’s network and those connected to it. Her allegations have since become a reference point for other accusers and legal actions.
