Sarah Ferguson faced the brunt of the public's wrath when her controversial ties to Jeffrey Epstein were splashed across headlines. Alongside Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, she was forced to begin the search for a new residence after being told to vacate Royal Lodge. The chaos resulting from her downfall appears not to have sat well with Ferguson, as she is allegedly struggling through her final days at her residence. According to royal commentator Reilly Sullivan, Ferguson is relying on her staff for sympathy as the move-out draws near.

In an interview aired for Sky News, Sullivan weighed in on Ferguson's final days at Royal Lodge, her residence for the past 17 years. He remarked, "We know that Andrew and Fergie are still in the house, and some of the details, you know, it's a little bit Greek tragedy … especially when it comes to Fergie. I think that her identity was tied up in being Duchess of York … and the loss of it allegedly just devastated her." Speaking of how she's coping by increasingly relying on her aides at Royal Lodge, he added, "She's really been hitting the bar and she's expecting the staff to kind of commiserate with her."

Similarly, a source claimed that in the aftermath of her title loss, Ferguson was 'not in a good place' and worried for herself and Andrew. They told The Sun that after their scathing downfall, Mountbatten-Windsor rarely went out and has been padding around the lodge, ranting and muttering to himself. The once very social former Duke reportedly appears withdrawn and irritable, while Ferguson was said to be 'panicking about what comes next.' Close pals of the former Duchess suggested that Ferguson's main worry is her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and the uncertain public position Mountbatten-Windsor now occupies. "But she is particularly fearful for Andrew as she knows he was at the center of the Epstein scandal," stressed the insider.

Adding to her already full plate of problems is her alleged belief that her ex-husband was reportedly targeted by 'dark forces' who are working against him. Whether her fears have any basis remains uncertain, but those close to her described a woman struggling to stay composed. The insider continued, "It's probably far-fetched, but she is terrified and massively on edge." The stress of it all, they argue, has pushed her to rely heavily on a small circle of loyal royal staff who have remained sympathetic through the couple's long years of controversy.

Just like his embattled ex-wife, Mountbatten-Windsor is also said to be 'depressed' and struggling to come to terms with his downfall. On the other hand, King Charles is reportedly concerned about his brother's poor state and allegedly wished someone would spend the Christmas season with Mountbatten-Windsor. With regards to the former Prince's dwindling mental health, an insider told The Sun, "But Andrew is depressed after losing his titles and being exiled from the Royal Family — so they don't want to leave him on his own."
