Royal Feud Enters a "New Phase" as William Distances Himself From Harry's Alleged Diana Project
Royal expert believes that William and Kate's bitter feud with Harry and Meghan has "entered a new phase."
Prince William and Kate Middleton have continued to present a united front despite the various controversies challenging the image of the monarchy. Notably, William has distanced himself from Prince Harry's reported documentary project about their late mother, Princess Diana, planned for the 30th anniversary of her death, as ongoing tensions between the feuding brothers show little sign of resolution. Amidst it all, a royal expert highlighted that the Prince and Princess of Wales' diplomatic silence may be their greatest asset when it comes to navigating the Sussexes' presence in the UK.
Royal editor Duncan Larcombe believes that "the bitter feud with Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has entered a new phase" after the couple reversed 'Megxit' and returned to the UK in August. "Prince William and Kate Middleton have proved the old adage 'actions speak louder than words'," Larcombe told Marie Claire magazine.
The royal editor further emphasized that the future king and queen are exemplifying the classic British attitude of "keeping calm and carrying on." "It is often the subtle signs that count for so much when observing the actions and behaviour of members of the Royal Family," Larcombe concluded. Meanwhile, journalist and royal author Omar Scobie revealed that Harry has been trying to reach out to his elder brother regarding the rumored documentary.
Scobie disclosed that the Duke of Sussex has "made it no secret that his wish for things moving forward, not just with his father, but with his brother as well, is to reconcile," while appearing on ABC News Studios for the documentary Harry & Meghan: The Return of the Prince. However, he also expressed skepticism about a possible reunion, as reported by GB News.
Meanwhile, broadcaster Dee Dee Dunleavy finds Harry's involvement in a Princess Diana documentary to be "deeply offensive," especially as reports indicate that William has declined to participate. William aims to prevent conflict with his younger brother, who is reportedly unable to market the anniversary due to their ongoing disputes. Dunleavy doubled down on the situation while appearing on News24, stating that another documentary on Daina will only mean more chaos.
"When we talk about a documentary that he won't be part of, what are we actually talking about? Is it this rumored one that Harry is supposedly working on and which I find deeply offensive? We don't need another documentary, whether William is in it or Harry is in it. There have been thousands of words written about Diana. There have been multiple productions, including movies. They bombed. People want to just remember her as she was. And for goodness' sake, can they just let her rest in peace?" Dunleavy highlighted. The Sussexes are rumored to be producing the project through their Archwell Foundation in collaboration with Netflix.
