Throughout the years, the monarchy has been rocked by various media interactions involving the royals. In 1994, King Charles' embarrassing confession about committing adultery during a televised interview with journalist Jonathan Dimbleby prompted Princess Diana to give her own controversial 1995 BBC Panorama interview. Years later, Prince Harry's memoir Spare exposed traditional family dynamics which cut him off from his brother Prince William. Similarly, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's 2019 BBC interview, linked to the Epstein scandal, brought much misery to the royal fold. Now, another documentary film is causing concern among palace officials regarding potential repercussions.

According to GB News, Angela Kelly, the former dresser and close advisor to Queen Elizabeth II, is set to feature in a scripted documentary reflecting her life in the Royal Household. The project will combine interviews, archival footage, and potential dramatizations, and is set to be produced by 53 Degrees Global in collaboration with Walt Disney. The documentary will be helmed by BAFTA-winning screenwriter Jeremy Brock MBE. He is renowned for writing Mrs Brown, a film depicting Queen Victoria's relationship with her Highland servant, that starred Judi Dench and Billy Connolly. Reportedly, Kelly was one of the late Queen's trusted confidantes during her final days, so much so that the late monarch labeled their relationship as 'sisters'. Her responsibilities extended beyond outfit selection to include breaking in new shoes, styling hair, and giving foot massages. In the Queen's final months, Kelly moved to a room near the monarch's private quarters at Windsor Castle and became the Queen's caregiver.

"The royals will be worried, and they are right to be worried," an insider told The Mail. Kelly's confidentiality agreement with the Royal Household complicates her ability to profit. She is even prohibited from using terms like 'King' and 'Palace' for commercial gain. However, she may be allowed to share her story due to a clause in the form of a letter from a private secretary of the Queen, which grants her permission to publish three books, two of which are already available.

"She knows everything you ever wanted to know, including the Queen's real views on Meghan," a royal source stated. "I don't think the Palace has a leg to stand on if she wants to tell her story. If Harry and Meghan can break all the rules, why can't she?" The source added,  "Angela has often spoken about wanting to spend time in the US, and she could do just that. There's nothing they could do to her there."

Kelly has previously published Royal Household: Dressing The Queen: The Jubilee Wardrobe in 2012 and The Other Side of The Coin – The Queen, The Dresser and The Wardrobe in 2019. According to royal expert Tom Sykes, Kelly was snubbed by Charles on the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's birth. Additionally, he wrote on The Royalist Substack that the former hairdresser was intentionally excluded from narratives about Elizabeth II's final moments, despite being present at her bedside at the time of her death.
