Queen Camilla Just Met An Unlikely Celebrity ― and the Wales Children Would Be Thrilled
Queen Camilla welcomed a very special literary guest to Scotland, and the visit had a heartwarming connection to the Wales children.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis remain enchanted by the world of Hogwarts so much that their grandfather, King Charles, enjoys reading the Harry Potter series to them. Hence, when Queen Camilla opened the doors of the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh to the author of the book series, it might have been a moment that would have thrilled the Wales siblings, only if they had witnessed it.
As per the royal family's official Instagram page, Queen Camilla met J.K. Rowling for the first time in person to discuss their shared passion for books and the importance of ensuring young people have access to reading, highlighting its role in shaping future generations. Their meet-up marked the beginning of the Royal Week in Scotland ― a place that has special meaning for Rowling since she wrote part of the Harry Potter series at the Elephant House café in Edinburgh.
It has been reported that the Wales' siblings are huge fans of the franchise. Last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited the set of the new Harry Potter television series with them. An on-set source, as per PEOPLE, described the visit as 'magical,' highlighting interactions with young actors and the director. Prince Louis particularly enjoyed riding the Hogwarts Express. The royal family, fond of the franchise, has engaged with it over the years, including past visits to Warner Bros. Studio. Similarly, in 2018, Queen Camilla revealed that even King Charles is a fan.
She shared the insights in a documentary celebrating the then Prince Charles' 70th birthday, highlighting his role as a loving grandfather to Prince George and Princess Charlotte. She revealed that he engaged deeply with them, crawling and making funny noises, while also reading them Harry Potter with different voices, which they greatly enjoyed. "He reads Harry Potter, and he can do all the different voices, and I think children really appreciate that," she said. Notably, Digital Wizarding World Pottermore (a website devoted to all things Harry Potter) highlighted on X that Prince Louis' name has a unique connection to the franchise. After the birth of the Prince in 2018, they tweeted, "Louis Arthur Charles, you were named after three iconic Weasleys… #RoyalBabyName." The three key Weasley characters are said to be Arthur, the clan's patriarch, Charles (Charlie), one of Ron's older brothers, and Louis, the youngest son of Fleur and Bill.
