Kate, Princess of Wales, has cancer, and "those pushing conspiracies must feel mighty low right about now," according to a palace insider.

"They probably felt the pressure to announce," royal author Valentine Low dished. "It was too much to bear in the end; they had to say something."

Kate, Princess of Wales did not reveal the type of cancer she was battling.

"Kate is very steely and has very strong views about protecting her privacy," Low added. The scribe also thinks the future king and queen "probably thought they had to say something eventually."

"They probably thought they couldn’t possibly continue saying nothing, you can’t keep doing that," Low continued.

The royal expert then opined that "there’s going to be an awful lot of people who are going to feel very chastened this weekend. They will be feeling very badly about themselves, as they should."

This follows a pointed reply to Kate's news from a royal source who shared: "Are you satisfied now? She bent to your will and announced a deeply personal struggle just to quiet the schoolyard gossip about her."

The insider then observed: "I wonder how Stephen Colbert feels today."

The late-night comedian and host of The Late Show fell under fire recently for engaging in popular Kate conspiracy theories on air. The host mentioned Prince William and his alleged affair with Lady Rose Hanbury. Colbert is an admitted anti-royalist who once called the royal family "inbred."

"Internet sleuths are guessing that Kate's absence may be related to her husband and future King William having an affair," Colbert shared. "I think we all know who the alleged other woman is — say it with me, 'the Marchioness of Cholmondeley.'"

Colbert continued: "Now, there have been rumors [of] an affair between William and the Marching Band of Chicanery since 2019," the host laughingly added while poking fun at her title. "According to tabloids back then, when Kate supposedly confronted him about it, he laughed it off saying there was nothing to it. Always a good response when your wife accuses you of cheating."

He then joked: "Ha ha, imagine me having an affair!" he exclaimed in a mocking British accent. "It is to laugh."

The Princess of Wales has also been recovering from abdominal surgery.

Even a friend of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle engaged in the #KateGate conspiracies that have been trending for weeks.

"I've compiled a few older videos of William and Kate walking together, as well as the recent video from Windsor Farm," tech CEO Christopher Bouzy shared on his X profile. "Take a look and decide for yourself if it’s Kate or not. In my opinion, we still haven’t seen Kate in public."

He added: "We were told Kate was recovering and would resume her royal duties shortly. Yet, in the recent video, she is holding a bag and moving briskly. If she’s capable of such activity, why isn’t she back to fulfilling her royal duties yet?"
