Princess Eugenie's Baby News Came With A Twist — And It Says A Lot About Her Bond With Andrew
Princess Eugenie’s happy baby announcement has also reignited speculation about where things stand with her father, Andrew
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been in trouble for the past few years, and things got worse when he was arrested over his links to Jeffrey Epstein. But the former Prince finally got some positive news, as he recently became a grandfather for the fifth time. But according to reports, he did not receive the news directly from his daughter. This new revelation further adds to the speculations surrounding their relationship, which was apparently soured after the recent turn of events and controversies.
The announcement about Princess Eugenie's baby was met with excitement inside the Royal Family after she confirmed that she and Jack Brooksbank are preparing to welcome their third child. However, reports claim Mountbatten-Windsor did not hear the news firsthand, with Sarah Ferguson allegedly passing the update on to her ex-husband instead.
Sources claim Ferguson was one of the first people Eugenie told about baby number three. But instead of calling her father herself, Eugenie reportedly had her mother share the happy news that another Baby Brooksbank is on the way this summer. A source told Daily Mail (via Sky News), “Andrew found out that he was to be a grandpa again via Sarah.” Eugenie and Mountbatten-Windsor have reportedly not been in contact ever since he was stripped of his royal titles and kicked out of the Royal Lodge.
The insider added, “Sarah is in hiding, so it wouldn’t have been appropriate for her to talk about the expected baby publicly. But of course, she was one of the first to hear the news, directly from Eugenie. They spoke at length. This is what mothers and daughters do.” Fergie was last seen at the luxury Mayrlife wellness spa in Altaussee, but after her hiding spot was exposed, she is relying on a friend to lay low.
Eugenie announced the pregnancy on Instagram on May 4, sharing an adorable photo of her two sons proudly holding up a scan picture. Alongside the picture, she wrote, “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” and added a string of heart and baby emojis. According to the source, she was nervous about sharing the news and how the firm would respond. The insider revealed, “They had been contemplating making a media announcement of their own without the Palace being involved, but the King made contact and asked his officials to make a formal announcement.”
The Royal Family officially shared the news, saying, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer. August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.”
Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson have not publicly spoken about the arrival of their grandchild. Due to his past links with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, the former Prince was asked to move out of the Royal Lodge, and currently, he is residing at Marsh Farm at the King’s Sandringham estate.
