Princess Eugenie Announces Third Pregnancy With Rare Photo of Her Sons
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank confirm they are expecting a third baby this summer, marking a major milestone for the House of York.
Congratulations are in order for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank as they prepare to welcome a new addition to their family. Much to the delight of royal fans, Buckingham Palace has officially confirmed that the couple is expecting their third child this summer.
In a formal statement released on Instagram via @theroyalfamily, the Palace shared the couple’s happiness, noting, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer…His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.” The announcement came with a rare picture of Eugeine's two sons: five-year-old August and two-year-old Ernest holding an ultrasound scan. As per the Palace, the boys “are also very excited to have another sibling join the family."
The happy news means there'll be a significant shift to the line of succession. Positioned 15th in line to the throne, Euegnie’s third child will displace Prince Edward to the 16th spot. The child will also hold a significant position in the family’s legacy, as he/she would be the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth; the third, since she passed away in 2022.
For the House of York, the upcoming arrival would be the 5th grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, following the birth of Princess Beatrice’s daughter Athena in early 2025. For the former Duke and Duchess, who have faced various scandals over the past year, a new grandchild will be welcome news.
Since their famous October 2018 nuptials at St. George’s Chapel, Eugenie and Brooksbank had August in February 2021, and Ernest two years later in 2023. Now the couple is set for a lively summer with their third child.
