Sarah Ferguson fell off the face of the Earth following the controversy surrounding her past connection with Jeffrey Epstein. Things started to go downhill for her quickly, and she ended up stepping away from her royal titles. She also moved out of the Royal Lodge she once shared with her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and found refuge at an Austrian retreat. But recently, her hiding place was exposed, and Fergie reportedly packed up and left. She is now leaning on close friends for support.

The former Duchess of York had been staying quietly at the Mayrlife wellness spa in Altaussee, near Salzburg, in a luxury apartment said to cost around $2,550 (£2,000) a night. She was reportedly keeping a very low profile, mostly staying inside, ordering room service, and avoiding public areas like the lobby or pool as media attention around the Epstein files continued to grow.

But once photos revealed her location, the quiet escape did not last. After The Sun tracked her down, Fergie is said to have left the resort and is now depending on trusted friends and contacts while trying to stay away from the spotlight. A source told The Daily Mail, “Sarah has good friends. People who know her well are happy to help her. She won’t be left with nowhere to go.”

However, a royal insider has recently revealed that Ferguson is struggling under the growing pressure, and she has been dealing with it by pulling away instead of facing things head-on. Rather than working through the situation, she reportedly tends to shut herself off, which has only made the stress worse. People close to her also believe she doesn’t see much reason to apologize or reflect, as she feels she has every right to say exactly what she thinks.

Reportedly, she blames Queen Camilla for her downfall and feels incredibly ‘betrayed’ by her, who used to be a close friend. A source told Heat, “Fergie's very bitter, she's angry and feels wronged by everyone in the family. She doesn't have the guts to confront anyone, but when she's had a couple of drinks, that's when the liquid courage kicks in and when she starts unloading.”

Furthermore, Fergie is also reportedly anxious about the possibility of facing a U.S. subpoena because of her links to the late convicted pedophile. According to reports, the disgraced former Duchess has no plans to return to the United States, fearing the backlash she could face from Epstein’s victims as well as growing pressure from Congress.

She is said to be especially worried about the public reaction and the scrutiny that would come with stepping back onto U.S. soil. The source added, “She feels it would be unbearable and does not want to be put in a position under oath where she would be asked not only about Epstein but also about Andrew.”
