Prince Harry returned to the UK for the WellChild Awards and other charitable endeavors, and fresh off extending his contract with the streaming giant, the Duke couldn’t help but plug in his latest Netflix binge with his wife. What came as a surprise to many royal observers is that his wife’s lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, didn’t get a mention.

The Duke, who was interacting with guests at the Awards in London, told one of them, “My wife and I just finished watching Hostage. It's very good, it's filmed here. If you haven't seen it, you should watch it." He cheekily added, "Although if it's unsuitable, it wasn't my recommendation!" He also recommended the dating show Love Is Blind during the appearance. Interestingly, wife Meghan Markle's cooking show, which just dropped its second season, didn't make the list.

Through their production house, Archewell Productions, Harry and Markle currently have five projects with Netflix: two seasons of Markle’s show With Love, Meghan, the short documentary Harry & Meghan, Harry’s military-focused Heart of Invictus, Polo, exploring the professional sport, and Life to Lead, a documentary on world leaders. Recently, although there were speculations about the streaming giant ending their contract with the Sussexes, the pair quashed all the rumours when they confirmed that they have extended their contract with the streaming giant. It will now include a multi-year, "first look deal for film and television projects."

The announcement read, "We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand.” “My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision,” they added in a joint statement.

However, a major bone of contention could be what comes next for Harry, especially as he tries to mend his relationship with his family. As per The Daily Beast, the Duke is planning a documentary on Diana, which is rumoured to be produced as part of their Netflix contract, for the late Princess’s 30th death anniversary. This could, however, further ruin things between the two estranged brothers. Insiders believe that Prince William would see the prospect of Harry producing this documentary as an attempt to ‘claim her [Diana's] legacy.’

A friend of William had earlier said, “The film the brothers made for the 20th anniversary was meant to be the last word. William made that very clear at the time. But of course, things have changed since then. If Harry is now going to do another massive Netflix show, effectively claiming her legacy, William will have to fight back, whether that’s with an interview or a documentary of his own. The whole situation is just very sad.” Industry insiders, meanwhile, have suggested that Harry’s proposed Diana documentary played a role in Netflix’s decision to renew its deal with the Sussexes. A series revisiting both her humanitarian legacy and the controversy surrounding her death is seen as potential ratings gold.
