Prince Harry Accused of Using King Charles' 'Royal Stradust' to Fix 'Mess' He and Meghan Created
One royal commentator has claimed that the Duke is ‘desperate’ for some royal star power on it as Invictus increasingly becomes a ‘mess.’
Prince Harry is all for a grand homecoming this July for an Invictus Games event ahead of the 2027 tournament in Birmingham. As he prepares for his trip to the UK, the spotlight has shifted from the game itself to a possible reconciliation with King Charles and whether Meghan Markle will join him for the event. One royal commentator has claimed that the Duke is ‘desperate’ for some royal star power on it as Invictus increasingly becomes a ‘mess.’
Royal expert Neil Sean said on his latest YouTube episode, “Harry is desperate to get some star stardust sprinkled back onto the disaster that he knows he and his wife who created the back of the cart in Vancouver.” The expert suggested that Harry is looking to reconcile with his father, as any association with the Royal Family would bring added attention to the Games. Since the charity has faced much scrutiny recently, King Charles’ involvement could generate positive publicity.
Sean made the comments while arguing that Invictus has struggled to maintain its focus in recent years. He claimed Harry was expected to be far more involved in promoting the Games. “Harry was supposed to be more actively involved, you know, doing courtside interviews, one-to-one interviews. What we got was a very brief snatch of him basically talking about his favorite topic, himself,” Sean said.
Invictus has faced several setbacks in recent months. Earlier this year, Melloney Poole stepped down as vice chair of the Birmingham 2027 board of trustees after serving in the role for around 16 months. The organization said at the time that Poole had chosen to leave in order to focus on other commitments.
On the other hand, Invictus Australia was recently caught up in a funding row after the Australian government initially withdrew a planned $9 million funding commitment. However, after massive backlash from the veterans’ community, the decision has since been reversed, marking a rare win for Harry and the organization.
The royal commentator also weighed in on reports that Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet could join Harry on the trip. According to Sean, any plans involving the Sussex family may depend on where things stand with Harry's long-running security concerns in the UK. He said, “Maybe at the 11th hour they're waiting to see if the British government can finally give Harry [the security].
Sean also dismissed the claims of Charles getting involved in Harry's security arrangements. He emphasized that the arrangement has remained unchanged since the Sussexes left royal life, and insisted the King is not paying for the Duke's protection. “The King is not funding the security,” he added.
