Harry and Meghan Are Coming To UK― But Sources Claim They're Bringing Cameras Too
Sources claim that, since their Hollywood run has ended, the Duke and Duchess are planning to revive their brand dreams with their latest homecoming.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had it all shortly after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. The Sussexes signed an estimated $100 million multi-year deal with Netflix to produce various formats, including documentaries, scripted series, and family programming. Harry & Meghan (2022) was a major success for Netflix, marking the platform's biggest documentary debut and attracting extensive global media coverage. However, subsequent projects like Heart of Invictus, Live to Lead, and With Love, Meghan experienced lower engagements, leading to observations of diminishing returns on content focused on the couple's narrative. Sources claim that, as their Hollywood momentum shifts, the Duke and Duchess are planning to revive their brand with their upcoming UK homecoming.
Sources indicate that the Sussexes are bringing a documentary crew for their upcoming UK visit, which will likely film their interactions with King Charles and other members of the royal family. Journalist Rob Shuter, through his Naughty But Nice substack, highlights a key question that every royal fan has in mind: Will the cameras be permitted to capture the emotional reunion? "Harry and Meghan are filming this chapter of their lives, and the reunion is a major part of the story," a source told Shuter. "Nobody doubts they’ll see the King. The discussion is about access and whether any of those moments will ever be made public." According to a royal insider, while Charles is not anticipated to appear on a reality show, the meeting is momentous, and any leaked photographs would receive international attention.
"A photograph of Charles with Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet would instantly become one of the defining royal pictures of the decade," another source told Shuter. "It would symbolize family, healing, and a relationship moving forward." Royal commentator Rupert Bell echoed similar views about the California-based couple while discussing their return after almost 4 years. "I hope if they're coming, they're kept away from the media," he stated while appearing on the Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered podcast.
Bell further stated that while the King spending time with his grandchildren is positive, Harry and Meghan must not parade the visit with the press. He advised that they should keep Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet away from the public eye after previously opting for privacy on social media. While whether cameras will be allowed or not is one thing, the true 'mystery' isn't the reunion itself ― it's "whether the public gets to see any of it is."
