For royal fans, watching young royals, especially Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, grow up has always been fascinating. From their first public appearances to milestone moments like joining a new school, every detail sparks widespread curiosity. In recent news, it was officially confirmed that George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, will soon begin a major chapter of his life, as he is set to attend the prestigious Eton College from September of this year. The decision marks a significant milestone for the young royal, whose education has always sparked public interest and speculation.

In an official statement, Kensington Palace stated, "Kensington Palace can confirm that Prince George will attend Eton College from this September." With this, George is said to be following the footsteps of his father, as William was also enrolled at the same prestigious boys’ boarding school. The Prince of Wales studied at Eton between 1995 and 2000, making history as the first senior royal to join the institution. At present, the elite school charges a hefty annual fee of around £63,298, as reported by HELLO Magazine.

Just days before the announcement was made, Melanie Sanderson, managing editor of The Good Schools’ Guide, shared why she believes the choice would be a practical one for the Wales family. She said, "You can see Eton College from Windsor Castle. So that would be lovely for George to be able to pop home. And the boys now are allowed a little bit of freedom to pop in and out of school at the weekends, to come home for Sunday lunch or tea on a Saturday evening after their sports fixtures."

She went on to praise the choice and said, "Eton, above all the other schools, has a really unparalleled breadth. All the other public schools have extracurricular opportunities, in theatre and on the sports pitch, but Eton really does take it to another level. Eton very much delivers on the global stage.” Sanderson added, "I think a coed school presents some issues that William and Kate may not want to address. They may wish someone to curate the kind of people George is socialising with.” Therefore, George is likely to study alongside students from similarly wealthy and well-connected families. Meanwhile, the young royal is currently a student at Lambrook School in Berkshire, a private preparatory school where he stays as a boarder. His younger siblings, Charlotte and Louis, also attend the same school.
