After years of avoiding consequences for his past actions, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is now facing his punishment in the court of public opinion. In December 2025, the US Department of Justice released the first batch of the 'Epstein files,' further damaging his already tarnished reputation. Now, a larger tranche, published on January 30, revealed emails in which the former Prince asked Epstein about a 'beautiful woman' and invited the disgraced financier for a 'private time' at Buckingham Palace.

Emails exchanged between Epstein and an account identified as 'The Duke' on August 11 and 12, 2010, show that the disgraced financier was looking to introduce 'A' to a 26-year-old Russian woman. In response, 'The Duke' said he would be in Geneva "until the morning of the 22nd, but would be delighted to see her," before asking, "Will she be bringing a message from you? Please give her my contact details to get in touch." He also inquired whether there was "any other information you might know about her that might be useful to know?" Epstein replied by describing the woman as "26, Russian, clever, beautiful, trustworthy."

Another set of emails, dated September 27, 2010, showed the former Duke of York inviting Epstein to Buckingham Palace. In it, Mountbatten-Windsor says, "I am just departing Scotland, should be down by 1800. I'll ring you when I get down if you can give me a number to ring. Alternatively, we could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy. A." While the correspondence did not indicate any wrongdoing, Epstein was sentenced for indecent relations with a minor just two years ago.

This isn't the first set of emails that paint the former Prince in a questionable light. An unearthed correspondence, published by The Sun on October 12, revealed that Mountbatten-Windsor had reached out to Epstein on February 28, 2011, a day after his infamous photo with Virginia Guiffre was made public. In the email, he wrote, "I'm just as concerned for you! Don't worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it. Otherwise, keep in close touch, and we'll play some more soon!!!!" Signed off as 'A, HRH The Duke of York, KG,' the email suggested that the relationship between the two men was not as casual and distant as Mountbatten-Windsor had previously claimed.
